You have to earn the right (be the appropriate level) to wear it. Not a bad thing. Level 10 conjurers shouldn't be allowed to look like level 50 ones.

Your reward for 50 is being able to look awesome. Acolyte/Foestriker and Brayflox gear is the only good looking pre 50 gear. Encouraging laziness and letting players look 50 when they aren't isn't a good idea. If you want the look then you earn it and you earn it by reaching 50. It's as simple as that. You haven't earned it till that class is 50.

That is, quite honestly, complete bull.

1. Vanity systems have never been something meant for the elite few in any MMO I've ever played. They are a universal system that everyone can participate in regardless of level. I'm not sure how SE got it into their head that players don't deserve access to something as simple and individual as a vanity system until they're level capped, but they need to remove that thought immediately.

2. I earned my Allagan robe. If I want to put it on my SCH while leveling, I should be able to. My achievements don't suddenly disappear when I switch to another class.

3. It is your opinion that Acolyte/Foestriker and Brayflox gear are the only good looking gear pre-50. Your opinion. In a reasonable vanity system, your opinion on what looks good only goes so far as how your character looks. So what if that level 30 WHM wants to glamour their Acolyte set? So what if that level 40 PLD wants to glamour the set they got at level 15? If that's what they think looks good, then that is they're choice and they should be allowed to do so. They earned that gear. They don't magically become more deserving of it when they hit level 50.

In other words: Get a class to 50 and unlock Glamours, and you can use it on any class, even pre-50.

I see is trying to out-do Blizzard with ever increasingly infeasibly massive weapons.

I don't know... the trailer shows Derplander with the Axe and it doesn't appear to be as ridiculous as the Roe in that pic.

I will say this.... I am definitely going to have to get my DRG in the Ultra Magnus gear pictured in blue in the last pic.

totally should increase quest lvl to 51 but say it's 50 so people take the quest get to the end then bam to low lvl to do it, would be freaken funny.

I think the level 50 quest unlock has more to do with them wanting to add more content for people who have already done everything in the game and are bored.

This is absurd. I thought SE couldn't get any more ridiculous with their arbitrary restrictions, but I was wrong. It seems they are absolutely adamant about turning what should be a relatively freeform, enjoyable, and individualized game system into something only certain people can actually make use of. I have never seen a vanity system restricted to such an extreme degree before.

If you cannot equip something, you cannot use Glamours to look like you can

It's basically a newgame+ perk for the MMO world.

What's wrong with that? You can be a lvl 10 conj glamored, as long as you got a lvl50 something else.

Otherwise people will whine about not having a chocobo when they start, or the melding or any number of restricted systems.

I think their point was the desire to have characters under level 50 be able to unlock the Glamour system itself, not level 50 armor.

Under level 50 there are armors that people still like and would like to use the Glamour system for, not that they should have access to lvl 50 gear that the character has not unlocked/can't equip at level 30.

For example, level 30 char uses Glamour system on armor he has acquired from level 1 to 30 and can equip from level 30 and under, NOT level 31 and up.

As of right now, Glamours look like the same system type Materia and Dyes fall under; once you unlock it, you can use it whenever.

In other words: Get a class to 50 and unlock Glamours, and you can use it on any class, even pre-50.

After all, once you unlock materia melding or dying, you can use it even on a class that is below the "unlock level"
