Not at all. It would help them fix it faster and it's not like I'm getting huge satisfaction out of the game as is.

The live servers need to be restructured regardless. Look at how many times they cite core programming/server issues as the reason as to why something can't be done.

I'd rather they empolyed more staff with those funds. Or invest in more servers... or.. or.. oh wait, actually, its not my job to do that.

I'm meant to be paying for a decent game. Well, that was the plan atleast.

    D'oh. Silly me.

No I would not be upset. I think I know some people who would, people that are on this game 24/7 it seems like. I don't devote my life to gaming, it is just a hobby, if this game fails, I will just find another game.

Also, i realize they have test realms updates and work related projects are run on, that's not why I suggested the servers be brought down.

As things stand right now, we have the base for an amazing game. So amazing that people actually enjoyed the game on launch day, and still do today. The gaping holes found in pretty much every aspect of this game need to be mended, but I don't think gradually doing that is the way to go.

By shutting down the servers the public would be able to see a 'before and after' as opposed to watching things gradually improve over a very long time. The end result might be the same for the game, but if you look at both options it seems to me like everyone witnessing small patches over a long period of time would very likely still bitterly remember how bad things were at the start.

By coming back in a year or so players would be able to see how the game has improved by leaps and bounds, and begin to have a positive outlook on things by exploring a large amount of new content/changes.

This is the worst idea. This would absolutely kill the game, you'd lose all momentum.

Currently it seems like the new Dev team has some sort of idea on how they want the game to turn out. I'm not entirely sure where that vision will take us, but I'm assuming it will at least leave us with a game that we enjoy.

The fact that we knowthe game is actually moving somewhere is good, but I think how it is being done is not. Working on improving individual systems and implementing small parches to introduce new content in tiny waves will not please the playerbase like a frees launch would.

I am beginning to think that shutting down the game and rebuilding everything at once before relaunching is the way to go. Your teams could start by all getting on the dame server on Final Fantasy 11 and playing fresh characters to max to find out what fun systems from the past to add to the future. By having everyone on the Dev team do this and write down the different aspects of the game they enjoy as they go you would build a sort of storyboard to use while rebuilding Final Fantasy 14.

Also, just to clarify, I'm not saying SE should make this an exact copy of 11. I'm simply saying that they should take the good systems they discovered in the past and add them to this game where possible. From there they can build on that foundation and form the beautiful game we all had hoped for when we first found out about this game.

I know that doing this could cause some players to be lost, but is that even a problem with the amount of damage that was done at launch?

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on this, it's a question I have had floating around in the old skull for a few weeks now.
Seems people dont rly care if the game goes down. All the random 11 stuff is not rly that important. Fix XIV plz SE... :/

ok cool guy, next buy a car and wait 3 years to drive it. In 3 years this game at its best will be a pile of trash compared to what they will be putting out. They need to take the money I already gave them and hire more devs.. we don't need more servers either... we don't have enough people on even one of them. get a clue. If its going to take years. the 15 people who have responded to this joke thread will be the only people playing on your "vast amount of servers that where purchased with the money they saved!!!!!!!!!"
