Think of these loyalty rewards as points on a gas card at your grocery store. Or like a buy 6 ice cream cones, get your 7th ice cream cone free. If you'd been getting free ice cream cones for months and then at the year mark, they were like "well, here's a couple coupons for some free toppings..."

Ok this is a bad example because free toppings on ice cream sounds pretty awesome. But you see what I'm saying. And please, this "the japanese aren't doing this so..." argument has to stop. It has never invoked any sort of meaningful change at any point, not in FFXI and not here. American's and the Japanese value things differently, and its been like that for decades.

You are paying a subscription so that they can keep this game going and so that they can pay their developers to make new content.
It is great that they put in a few extras for their subscribers, but they don't have to.

Their previous MMO title did nothing in the form of extras for even the longest time subscribers, and noone said anything.
This MMO title gives a small token of appreciation and suddenly the Atlantic ocean isn't big enough to catch all the tears because the "reward" isn't good enough.

And FFS, is every post that someone makes on a forum really just an excuse to try and say the snarkiest, most off putting thing they can come up with? No one is crying a sea full of tears. Its more like a "pfft" and an eye roll. I'm sorry to disappoint you. I won't be slitting my wrists because the 30 day reward is, in my opinion, better than the year reward.
