Pretty sure the point is you can't buy the rewards with gil. The argument that "you buy a ticket every time you teleport so this reward is meaningless", doesn't make any sense.
Someone remembers the empress band..![]()
you buy 50 teleports with gil, so how is it not something you can buy with gil? oh yea it wastes an inventory slot, that's supposed to make it more valuable?

You are horribly mistaken and have absolutely no clue on how cellular service providers work. It was a nice try though. I can always break it down for you how VZW jacks your wallet and your hole.ugh @ peoples arguments of "entitlement". No one is butthurt. But if you are going to develop and implement a system of "loyalty rewards" and make the year milestone arguably worth less than the 60 day milestone, then don't be surprised if people complain.
And to someones argument about verizon, you do get rewards. You get hundreds of dollars off of your $700 smartphone for re subbing.
You should have bought an authenticator.....
Your tears feed me....
You're right. Because I see the same coin from a different side, I have absolutely no idea how cellular service providers work. I pay my bill every month. I feel the rape. I understand how they get you. I also understand how an unlocked brand new iphone will cost you $800, whereas that same iphone will cost you $200 with a two year contract. I get that it is not the same as receiving a reward for subscribing to ffxiv, but truthfully, the initial comparison of square enix to verizon, in this context, shouldn't have been made in the first place. Because there is no compelling reason, other than entertainment, to subscribe to an MMO, whereas there are many compelling reasons, not limited to entertainment, to subscribe to verizon cellular service. Please remember that, as well as I am not the one who opened that can of worms, when choosing to insult me.
A rewards program in this context, is incentive to add to your sub. There are many many many other mmo's out there. There are only 5 major cellular providers in north america, and even that can be argued from region to region. It was a bad comparison from the gate.
And finally, its a shame that so many people around these parts literally get off on being as condescending as possible.

It is still a relatively good comparison. Both provide a service and with said service comes a cost(initial cost+monthly sub). Regardless of why you subscribe to either service, neither are requirements for day to day function. Humankind was able to survive for tens of thousand of years without cell phones or MMOs. Most companies that offer a subscription service do not include 'veteran rewards' for your subscription. Offering a new phone for completing a two year contract is hardly a reward. You are actually paying off the phone in your monthly fees, and not only that, if you choose to not upgrade at the end of your contract, you are still paying for a phone you already paid for. If you are on VZW and are lucky enough to keep your unlimited data, the only choices is to buy that $800 phone in order to upgrade, go somewhere else, or allow VZW to tell you that $30 for 2GB of data is worth more than $30 for unlimited....You're right. But I digress, let's go for a simplified sub service. Magazines. Game informer? Whatever comes from game stop. I have never received anything for being a 'loyal' subscriber for the monthly fee i paid.

I am not supporting this either.
I am pretty happy that this reward is actually something useful, they could have given us nothing and noone would care.

I just laugh at this community. Its quite bad. Basically, they always go against the opposite of what topic is. In original topic everyone was going crazy about the teleport and I was one of few people who was ok because odin minion . Now someome makes a topic that they should change and community all of a sudden is ok. I bet if topic was "Reward is Great, what do you think?" people would've called TC an idiot and how terrible it is. Community on forums are just all trolls.
You're paying to sub. You should get much more lolol.
Think of these loyalty rewards as points on a gas card at your grocery store. Or like a buy 6 ice cream cones, get your 7th ice cream cone free. If you'd been getting free ice cream cones for months and then at the year mark, they were like "well, here's a couple coupons for some free toppings..."
Ok this is a bad example because free toppings on ice cream sounds pretty awesome. But you see what I'm saying. And please, this "the japanese aren't doing this so..." argument has to stop. It has never invoked any sort of meaningful change at any point, not in FFXI and not here. American's and the Japanese value things differently, and its been like that for decades.
