Personally, I just think it's the artist overlooking a few anatomy flaws. It has happened before - look at Papashan; he's a lalafell, and is way shorter ingame than he is in this poster: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/73...1a1b158371.jpg
I think this is also the case in this new promo art. Miqo'te with a somewhat skewed anatomy.
Edit:
Also, if you look at that highlander next to her, his anatomy is extremely exaggerated compared to what it is ingame, but it doesn't make him the representative of a new race.

I thought that might be the case as well, and then I asked myself... where are her real ears then? The hair on the side of her head is blown back beyond a point where her hume/hyur ears would be visible, but they're not. Plus, the overall aesthetic and design of the rest of her even clashes with it being a mid or highlander in the first place, just look at her face/neck, they do not match up with the hyur motif of the DRG, nor is she bulky enough to be a Highlander.
Oh, I saw that (he's got more of a Raubahn appearance). However, the overall appearance, while exaggerated is definitely not consistent with the overall characteristics of Miqo'te. Again, this thread is all about speculation in the first place, but just from comparisons to past and even the Miqo'te in the art provided, it's too different.Personally, I just think it's the artist overlooking a few anatomy flaws. .
Oh wow.
That's a pretty big oversight.
Or is it a small one?
if the difference between viera and miqote is 2 cm of ears, what is the point?
It's a Miqote.

While the ears may not be big in the picture, it doesn't mean it will be that small of a difference in game. Also, due to the movement being shown, the ears are in a blown back state, and not standing up. So, while they seem small right now, they could appear much bigger once standing up and in a 3D environment. Again, this thread is all about speculation so any input is appreciated, but I do like to point things out from my perspective as well. There are too many aesthetic differences to rule it as a Miqo'te even if it is just an exaggerated design.
Also, I am not stating that this is "Viera confirmed" as I noted in my post, but rather noting that whatever that PLD is, it does not look at all like a Miqo'teSo, we can include half-races (especially as that was second place on the 1.0 poll) or anything else that may have those kinds of ears/body design, which is Viera in this case, but an altered Viera.

Huh given how closely you guys pick apart pr mats I'm glad I'm not doing consept art for SE
Give that guy a break it's a groupshot, do you know how hard those are to draw? We all can't be akihiko Yoshida's you know!
If this really does foreshadow Viera or some kind of rabbit race with a different name....
Don't forget to add the Male ones please Square- Enix![]()
So.. not a miqo'te. The ears are too long and too close together. I don't know what the race will be called but that's definitely not a miqo'te. Hell, after looking at the miqo'te on the left with the daggers gives it away even more. They aren't going to flat out give her longer ears because then we wouldn't need the mystery character.
That was actually one of their biggest concerns. They didn't seem to like the thought of Male Viera. If at all possible it would seem that they wanted to avoid trying to have Male Viera to the point where they'd gender lock it, just like Miqo'te, Highlander and Roegadyn were before.
