Crystal farming and gatherers

I do agree wholeheartedly that farming shards in XIV are tedious. Even XI has better deal with farming those, since beating elemental yields players with clusters which can be broken down to shards.

I agree that if there's a way to hugely improve low level farming such as clusters, this also beats botters from playing with market prices. Logically, if players with high level or capped DoL can farm shards very easy, botters won't even bother selling these at high prices, or even selling them anymore, period.

I find this very weird that my lvl 50 miner are farming shards like I'm back on level 1.

The only reason to gather shards at higher levels of nodes is for luminary reward.

Just wanna correct this: For working on luminary DoL, you can only benefit farming shards for tier 1 achievement only, which is level 1-10 range, and shards are level 1 mining. Doesn't matter if you're farming on lvl 50 spots, it still count as tier 1. If you're working on luminary, you need to farm on appropriate level range on that tier. That means farming a level 41-50 on tier 5 achievement, for example. lol

Crystals, on the other hand, are level 26, and benefitted for tier 3 achievement (level 21-30 range). Clusters are level 50, which should be perfect for tier 5 achievement, except that they are categorized as rare gathering since nodes for that only pops on certain time.

I see you have above lvl 40 DoL classes. Best you open your achievement page in-game, then try farming shards yourself, and then check back achievement and see if your shard farming does count on other tier besides tier 1 achievements. That should clearly answer your own question.

I have my luminary. I got it by farming nothing but shards... so this is wrong.

Its the node, not the lvl of item you're farming. also be mindful of the fact that Mor Dhona and Coatheras don't contribute to anything
