The localization team fell asleep on this one.

Nushi-tsuri (ぬし釣り) refers to the sport(?) of fishing for the "king" of the river, lake, or whichever body of water you're fishing in. Basically you're trying to catch a rare legendary (probably big too) fish that has never been caught before.

Basically they could have translated this as "Hunt for Legendary Fish" or something.

They also seem to get a chair. Did anyone else notice how the time of day changed drastically while watching him fish. Makes me wonder if it's something nuts like you sit there for 20m just waiting for a bite.

That's what it made me think, too.

People have been clamoring for NMs, so maybe now there's something that lets you sit around for hours at a time waiting for the one pop you're going to get that day. \o/

Probably gonna have to fight big fish to tire them out instead of just hitting the 'catch' button. Which I like the idea of.

Most likely giving use to 1 and 2 star Fish, they currently take a lot of luck to capture and serve no purpose.

Nah, they're just adding that glow when you fish so it's easier to see when you have a catch:

We understand that there have been comments mentioning that it’s difficult to see fishing rods when they are cast depending on the time of day, lighting, and other factors, and that there have been requests to make the tip of the rod shine when you hit a fish. While we do not have any plans at the moment to implement something like this, we will be keeping an eye on the requests and look into it.

On a side note, in patch 2.1 we will be making it so fishing rod movement varies depending on the size of the fish you hit.

Previously we mentioned that we had no plans to implement a glow on fishing rods when a fish has been hooked; however, based on everyone's requests up until now we have decided to improve the visibility when hooking a fish and will be adding this glow.
