sonic your just knit picking the thought of caped, you should run for congress or something. i'm sure when they all say they want cap they want the difficutly at that level. they not deluting the idea that rank 25 is harder so why cap at 30. if the difficulty is 25 then that is what the cap should be.

well subjective or not we will find out threw empty'''er servers what the majority is. then in reallity they will need to dumb down the content even more cause what will be left is even bigger noobs. and in reality no matter how easy the content gets for everyone the real problem will always be there. that you all want to hit lfg and afk, play your ps3 or psp's, afk and play with your kids and talk to your wife...basically play both mmo and life mediocre.

LOL, thanks for that laugh. +1 to you sir! I would be for people voluntary scaling down their rank or possibly for the monster scaling idea.

Fun is subjective. There's someone out there that will find going through the R30 dungeon with a R50 fun.
True. Some people also think it's fun to use invincibility cheats in first-person shooters.
And that's not my problem as long as the game they are playing is an offline single player one.
But as soon as high level players rush through low level dungeons and amass all there is
to get with no effort whatsoever in a MMO, I face a dilemma: either I also cheat, or I don't
and risk being the odd one out on my server that does not have that dungeon gear everyone
    else is running around with.

And noone wants to be the odd one out in a MMO.

I would feel even more accomplished if me and my friends took our R25s and defeated a dungeon meant for R35s.
no, they said this is supposed to be difficult content, not the easy content, this was their own words, there are open world low NMs for you to get your kicks on, this is supposed to be the new hard rewarding battle reform

then other 2 were done at rank 75, easy to do, was ok for something to do but no where near the entertainment value of doing it with others. the caped ones of course were still the more entertaining of them all.

i've been saying this alot lately, but i am starting to think it seriously the best solution, pve mmo's should start creating different types of servers like pvp mmo's do, they have all pvp ones and non pvp ones. pve games should create multiple servers like this for different game types. and again no one i know needs caps for there epeen but for entertainment value.
It might be entertaining for you but that does not mean its the same for everyone else. I also had missions in all 3 cities done in FFXI and like you i did the Bastok at the intended lvls on my first class and did the other 2 with a 75 class but for ME, the experience was better when i did it on the 75 class since all i cared about was the story. I did not have to wait between missions till i was the right level, or didnt need to repeat old missions since someone fell behind and didnt have to worry about entering the BC for the boss fight only to have your whm tell you he can't enter since hes on the wrong mission. In the end, what people find entertaining wont always be the same as others; You found it entertaining to be in "full parties. large groups killing threw zones together. doing it all as intended. " and i found it more entertaining to get past the boring stuff and learn more about the story asap, without any delays.

While i could care less about R25 dungeons, i don't like the fact my gameplay preference should be limited when how i choose to play does not effect others. While people can wine and moan about game balance and gear, i dont understand why it should bother anyone if i choose to help LS mates on my R50 through the dungeon. Someone else having the item is not gonna make yours any less effective; Some of you might want to experience the challenge of the dungeon(i'll also be doing it for the challenge) but that does not mean everyone wants to be challenged.

No, because no one else is being held to that standard. Self-imposed limitations are useless.

It's not just about the feeling of accomplishment. It's also about balancing risk vs reward, as well as item scarcity, perceived item value, and content longevity, all of which get compromised in this game if specialized, non-open world content is not capped.

True, but I think the best compromise would be for the voluntary rank scaling and not having the monsters drop loot if there is someone 10 levels over. That at least would give me a chance to explore the R30 dungeon as a R50, just to explore.

I dont mind so much the levels being uncaped , but what about partys having to be 8 or 4 members Only if it is infact a requirement to enter, My ls is Small with a good circle fo friends proberly up to 12 active people, but having us all on at the same time is another issue which comes up alot for other people im sure, are we going to be able to enter with one or two people missing going in with a party of less than 8 or are we doomed to not be able to enter?

A compromise we could agree on.
