PLEASE, stop teaching/telling new healers to DPS

You must be joking. I will willingly stand there and do nothing because if I pop Cleric and the tank suddenly decides to be a little too slow to dodge that AOE suddenly I have an "OH SH!T!" moment where I need to wait a painful 1.5-2 seconds to exit Cleric then yet more time to actually cast that heal.

We have no obligation to DPS AT ALL. Absolutely ZERO. It is not our job in the slightest. It is not "leeching". You'll know when a healer is actually "leeching" because YOU'LL BE DEAD.

A) That tank is an idiot and that's not your problem.
B) By the time you reach any point in a trial/dungeon/raid where said tank could be hit by a dodgeable AoE, you should know how good or bad of a dodger they are and if they aren't, not go into Cleric in the first place.

Worst-case scenario examples are funny.

As an aside, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm referring to when I say it is a healthy experience to try DPSing as healer. So you see these situations crop up and think to yourself "welp, I did that wrong. What do I do differently next time?"
