On PS3 Release: New servers for new characters only.

So, basically this argument falls into two camps:

• Those who support the idea.
• Those who lack reading comprehension and turn everything into a slippery slope.

I like the idea. S-E should make virgin servers at PS3 launch for new characters only. PS3 users can still select the old servers, but it gives people a chance to start over on a world that doesn't have a ton of people who have max gil and a ruined economy.

Nobody ITT is asking for the existing servers to be rebooted, so if you don't like the idea, please ask yourself why you stayed in the game for the last year:

• Do you honestly enjoy the game as it is now?
• Do you have nothing better to do with your time?
• Or did you grind and grind and grind solely so you'd have an advantage over the PS3 launch crowd and now you're upset that people might have the option of playing on a server where you're not king?

I wasted $80 to play this game 6 days early. Once the game is actually good, I'd gladly give up my levels, my gil, and my gear to start over and play from level 1 on a fresh world. Why don't you want me to have that option?

Exactly - as long as the servers were open to everyone, I don't see what the problem is. PS3 players with friends on the existing servers can still choose to play with them, and everyone else can choose a fresh server that wasn't muddied by the old rules and broken systems from an unfinished game.

I would gladly help any newbie to the game with my PUG lvl 6. PS3/old PC users do not need special servers, etc. They can join us and make Eorzea more lively.

However I dont mind one or either.

Completely agree. While my character right now has multiple 50's, and tons of other jobs well leveled, I would much rather start over with a new server and a new community. That is if they fixed this game, made combat fun and challenging and added fun and challenging content.

I'm a big fan. It's the best of both worlds really.

If you spent crap-tons of time leveling up every class to 50 and have 30mil gil, you can stay on your existing server and play with others that have done the same.

If you would like to start over in a world with a fresh economy and all new players, you can make a new char on one of the new servers.

As long as there are no server transfers for a year or more, and as long as SE gets on top of the botting, paid-leveling, and RMT issue on day one of the PS3 release, it should work fine~

I can't think of a reason that anyone should be opposed to this...

Let's be honest. The only people opposed to this idea are those who spent thousands of hours banging on an anvil to get their crafts up to 50 so they could dominate the economies when the PS3 version launches. There will be slightly less people for them to impress.
