I think your friend/ls member got trolled.

Why do people nowdays expect random people to teach others?
That is what FC/LS/Guild or friends are for.
I'm an old school like Karnyboy, but I can't remember expecting anyone to go out of their way to teach others. If they did, it was nice, but we never raged on someone for not using their time to teach others.
And as the OP said, it was someone who had no clue what their role was. Why should someone teach a person who has not deemed it important to do some self study first?
do you realize there are A LOT of pop ups everywhere during your levelling process that contain every little thing you need to know ? (plus some extras totally unuseful as they are evidences, like "click the box in duty finder to launch a dungeon search". Not the "open DF" part, just the "tick the box". People who can't figure that won't figure 99% of the game and probably won't go past lv 20 anyway)
People not knowing the basics (I don't mean that they should fully master their perfect rotation but rather not spam the combo ending or not doing their job aka tank/heal/dps) are clearly people who ignored all the tutorial and are either :
=> vets. They know it all and don't need it to be at least average
=> idiots. And they won't go far. They'll be flamed really hard, and will probably quit very soon, if they don't meet someone who cares to explain where to find the tutorials again.
=> special cat : trolls. You might have seen one
This so much. Probably search info that drg and he's got 4 other classes at level 50 and was just messing around. Someone would've yelled at him if he was trying to dps tank by that level. Also that really wouldn't work in dungeons at all, unless he was blessed with a good healer every time.
Sorry to go off topic:P was just trying to see how you deal with the ppl as that can all ways help or mess things up is all anyway back on Topic![]()
It happens when your game is easy and literally throws you exp.
You don't *need* to learn your job because the world doesn't hold any danger, the DF sets you up and allow you to get carried and quests give you exp and equipment.
I don't have problems with people that don't know how to do some of the "required" aspects of the game, as long as they don't blame their struggles on me.
I was healing a haukke manor normal on my white mage yesterday in a roulette. The tank was a gladiator that was level31. Ok, sure, some people don't feel like leveling another class up so they can get their job crystal right away. It's totally cool. I had no issues. But that was just the start. This person didn't have remotely current gear at all. :P I mean, other people in the party, had the same hp or higher than the tank. This wasn't because he didn't have a job crystal (though having one would increase his hp since it ups stats by 10%). His gear was like all at least ten levels lower than his current level. But again, I don't judge. He was playing the game the way he wanted to, ok fine. But he would make snide comments during the run like: "You going to heal me this time?" "Don't forget to heal!" Honestly, when he died, and all the mobs were on me, healing myself was actually easier. I had as much or more health. I had probably more defense as well cause his gear was in fact that far off his current level (think like pieces of lvl5 starter gear and stuff). If he was doing the quests you do from your class trainer, those quests give you gear. Was he just not putting it on? I have no idea.
But yea, I really don't get it. Sure in other games, there were players that just made your life difficult because they were trolling or something. But I really believe this guy was just really believing he was that awesome and that everything was other people's fault. He actually dyed all his gear he did have, it was all "snow white" in color. Not like, the bone white you get from the vendor. He bought the crafted dye on the market board... lol He bought dye, but not gear. It's not like gear is expensive either, because as many have already stated, there is hardly any money in crafting. So for about the same amount of money he spent on his dye, he could have gotten gear that was current. He just didn't wanna.
So it's just beyond the whole "my pace" style of gaming. Why are people just lazy here?![]()
One terrible player means the system must be changed. Maybe the player was trolling, maybe his gf jumped onto his game, who knows. This is far from the norm, and nothing to create any conclusion. System is fine IMO, people have way too high expectations in low level dungeons anyway. They can easily be done with 3 people.
Yeah, I was doing Haukke Manor on my DRG the other day, the tank left immediately and so I just said let's start, I tanked on DRG, even the first 4 mob pull around the corner with no problems lol. I just said jeez maybe just give us a 3rd DPS lol.One terrible player means the system must be changed. Maybe the player was trolling, maybe his gf jumped onto his game, who knows. tbh, a geared lancer can tank pretty much everything up to Haukke with no problem...
