Mostly because MMOs in general aren't doing so well. I don't know of many genres that can do well when they're all busy coping off each other. Outside of FPS I guess, but really how can you make FPS different? I like this game because I like Final Fantasy. The MMO market is pretty much pick your flavor of ice cream. I will say though SE has done really well holding on to the players it has. Most games end up consolidating servers within the first 6 months.

Interesting question. Here's mine: I'd love to know the timeline of the design and development, I'm sorry, re-development of the current version of the game we are now playing. Then I'd be able to make a more balanced and informed opinion about justification of why apparently there 'just hasn't been enough TIME yet to produce fresh content'. We both know that info is not going to be divulged.

What is available though is the playerbase voicing questions and being disappointed who have reasonably been questioning the rehash of 'new content'.
At least he admits this is all QQ since he can't answer direct questions.

    Troll thread 2/10.

That still doesn't provide how we are seeing another MMO "die" especially this one. I remember the first three months of SWTOR people were saying it is going to "die" but it's still active isn't it?

That's what he means by throwing the doomsday scenario as a talking point is so overdone, it no longer has any meaning.

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'die'. Will this game always have players? Yup. Will the servers probably stay up as long as there are people willing to pay? Yep. Will it there always be a large number of servers that high populations? Nope. If your interpretation of an MMO deing is shutting the servers down very very few have done this. Hell if no one playing means the game is dead even FF1 hasn't died yet.

The only reason SWTOR is still active is because it went F2P. So....it died.

    I agree with OP.
Rehashes of old dungeons plus an extra primal and a few more turns in BC isn't enough.
Even BC is a mediocre raid there is no real trash there is nothing really interesting no atomosphere it's sub par.

I even have to pay another 6 dollaars a month for WTFast to play effectively
The only thing keeping me here is there isn't much else in other mmo's that I would like to play atm but I will soon move on , I gave this game it's chance.

Tupsi ARR gives you one new dungeon, 2 hard modes and a raid every 3 mos now a F2P style MMO will give you at best one new dungeon and one pvp map after 1.5 years that is why ARR is P2P. F2P MMOs are designed to fill a niches like Realm vs Realm, Sand Box and Open World MMO's with horizontal progression. A good example would be Elder Scrolls Online or Eve Online.

The MMO genre in general is where it's at for one reason and that's because the player base dosen't know what they want. If your looking for a single player experience with massive multiple online players then prepare to be disappointed because then developers would have to ignore balancing issues. I your looking for Open world and horizontal progression prepare your self for a niche game because they don't sell way see Eve Online SWTOR or The Dark Ages of Camelot to see how they didn't grow and ended up with 50K players. That is the reason major MMO's use the same design because thats what sells and we all know players talk with there wallets not by complaining and whining.
