You have zero freaking clue how much work that, do you?For me the 3 Months updates are failing, the wait is too long for little content =/.
One End game Primal/Boss Fight per month can work a lot better and a Full end game dungeons each 2 Months.
1.- Creating a Monthly boss fight will add a lot of vitality to the game.
2.- Each 2 months a new end game dungeon.
3.- Each 3 months release the big update, with some revamped dungeons in hard mode, hairstyles, vanity slots, minions, mounts, daily quests and 1 raid similar to crystal tower.
The balance at the end of year will be positive 12 bosses fights, 6 end game dungeons and 4 raids.
You are basically asking for devs to not even take a toilet break and then they still won't get it finished.
It's not going to "die". Incredibly rarely is it that an MMO "dies", at least before the developer is pushing for its successor. All games become less popular, but that's because the band of "sugar rush" players have had their fill and are out to find the next big release. But there will always remain a niche group of players who stick to the game until the end. If it doesn't appeal to you, then it is entirely within your rights to find a game that does (after all, what's the point of playing a game if not for enjoyment?), but it is an insult to your own intelligence to assume that a game will die simply because it does not rest well with your perception of good game design.I realise that you are a business SE and you're here to make money and you think this formula for vertical progression you have is going to allure people forever, but i can assure you that if you keep releasing new content that is low-tier or gets forgotten within 2 months of the patch being released, you will be in for a rude awakening when all of that initial success starts to trickle away. End rant. Please fix this game. It's not dieing yet, but it's going to if this trend continues.
Do away with iLvl all together. People would enjoy running content more (individually and as a community) if there were a better variety of items, and a chance to occasionally stumble upon that super-rare high quality item that everyone wants but rarely sees. (No, don't make the rare items disperse to the entire group because x people cried when they lost the roll.) Myth gear should only be filler gear.
This "everyone pays their sub to get the same thing" mindless gear rush to BiS is ruining the replay value and community as a whole.
Also, give us rare NMs (not fates) to hunt, and other similar activities to do in the open world. A little goes a long way.
I love this game, I just don't care for what the gear rush model does to the community.
i haven't logged in for awhile mainly because there is nothing to do anymore. i really disliked EX's cause they were way to easy and pretty much rehashed from hardmode with a dumb repeating final phase. Coil is a very casual dungeon, i know tons of people who played this game 4 hours a week and beat the content often. I think maybe a year or 2 this game will be good but I'm really worried the way they are doing there content aka making stuff like ct useless just to give all the new players everything now. I guess if we start playing in 2 years when you hit 50 ill be able to right off the bat spam t14 over and over to gear up with i115 gear completely ignoring everything else. The game needs more stuff to do socially and casualy. If i didn't buy a house i probably wouldn't resub for 2.2 but I'm giving them a chance because 2.1 was just a catch up patch. I am in 5-6 linkshells that each had 50-80 people online actively from what a friend is telling me those numbers are down to 5-10.
I am totally with you on thatEvery content patch looks to be exactly the same. "some story, 2 hm dungeons, a new dungeon, some primals, and CT or Coil" First off, this "formula" is lazy
After the release of Beta Phase four, I and others on the Beta forums felt that the reductions of the lower level dungeons from P3 to P4 was too great both in size and difficulty. Of course they are low level XP leveling and experience dungeons and need to be seen in that context, but even so people only learn their classes and party roles by being pushed a little by content a little above their comfort level.
Also, there is the simple fact that in p3 they were a much more enjoyable to play through. Sadly the P4/release versions are bland uninteresting and lacking in the pressures that help people both learn and have fun.
i agree they need to start ading more relevant content. fresh 50s have enough dungeons as it bloody is.
also i hope they dont go the same way of not ading coil 6-9 to df. puting these roadblocks is just asinine. titan ex is in df. there is no excuse. let us practice and smash our heads against it if we want to.
If you want keep your playerbase paying your game, you need work Friend.
The hardwork is the only way to go. The amount of content the dev team is creating atm is not enough for keep the playerbase interesed, you can see the big amount of complain everyday in this forums asking for :
1.- Open World content
2.- More Raids
3.- Content with horizontal progression
4.- Dungeons for more than 8 man
In the company i work. We do 4 projects per month. We code about 6 hours per day and 2 hours are for planning, depuration and presentation. Basically in 5 days we have to make a new program. If 10 people without the resources square enix have, can make this posible.
Why a company with professional programmers, 3D designers cant make a "Boss Fight" each month and new dungeon each 60 days?.
Tera being a F2P game, said. Create a full dungeon can take "almost 30 days".
Creating a boss fight in a small arena, not even a full dungeon cant take more than 15 days for a professional group of work like square enix.
A full dungeon probably yes 30 days, but giving they 60 days would be enough for avoid rush the project.
But.... if you think this game will keep his playerbase, with small content each 3 months. I respect your opinion.
This game will be FFXI - ver 2.0 Running 10 years with 400 - 500k playerbase. Im Ok with this, i played 8 years FFXI with that amount of players...
