This game needs a lot of work...

Let me start of by saying that despite it's flaws, I love this game. I've met some truly great people over the course of this adventure i embarked on in september. That being said, it's getting really, really old. Content patches are few and far between. The first content patch we got was released almost 4 months after launch, and it was the "Hey, this should have been out at launch" patch. Now you've dug yourself into a pit with CT. Its flat-out irrelevant. You cant release content that is under the content that's already out. It's nothing more than vanity gear at the moment, and we don't even have a vanity system for another month at best.

Every content patch looks to be exactly the same. "some story, 2 hm dungeons, a new dungeon, some primals, and CT or Coil" First off, this "formula" is lazy, and i'm having trouble figuring out why it's taking the dev team 3-4 months to release rehashed versions of crap we already have in the game. They're not even wildly different mechanics. It's the exact same stuff with a couple more bells and whistles and an atmosphere change at it's core. As for the new dungeons coming out this patch. iLvl55 requirements? I'm sorry, but fresh 50s don't need to have access to all of the content in the game, they lack the knowledge on their job and you're throwing them into content they aren't prepared for yet. That's why no one does pharos sirius.

As for CT, it's also nothing short of irrelevant. No one needs it. You're taking the myth cap off and removing BCoB lockout. So not only do we lack new raid-level content for 6-7 months out of the year, but CT is also wildly irrelevant anywhere from 6-7 to the entire year, depending on if you just picked the game up or not. You're also adding new crafted gear into the game. Yet another reason to never step foot in CT again.

I suggest that less things get handed out to new players, you push new content out faster, and stop with the lazy rehashing of old content. We say it's "new content" but is it really? No. It's the exact same thing we've been doing for 6 months with a new twist and turn thrown in. The hardcore community is logging in for an hour a week. A lot are unsubbing. Even the casuals are unsubbing because there isn't anything to do. No one even does 75% of the content released last patch. I can't remember the last time i saw someone doing moggle mog. Parties for copperbell or pharos? That's a good joke, seeing as they've never happened. I love this game but i'm at my wits end.

I realise that you are a business SE and you're here to make money and you think this formula for vertical progression you have is going to allure people forever, but i can assure you that if you keep releasing new content that is low-tier or gets forgotten within 2 months of the patch being released, you will be in for a rude awakening when all of that initial success starts to trickle away. End rant. Please fix this game. It's not dieing yet, but it's going to if this trend continues.

EDIT: another point of mine being. You are wasting man-power, resources, money, and time as a company, as well as our time and money. If you're just going to keep releasing content we will never touch again unless there is some half-assed, forced reason in the story to revisit it, like guildhests in the last patch. It's a shame we wait for new content just for us to never need or want to do it again in three months. Vertical progression is not the way to go right now, and I sincerely hope you listen to the pleas of your subscribers to make this game more horizontal.

While it's fine to say you dislike the way it's going, that doesn't really amount to anything if you don't provide any alternative course. For the most part I like the way things are progressing. It's fairly predictable, sure, but just because we know 3 dungeons, 3 primal fights, and an extension of coil are coming out this month doesn't mean they don't have something left to surprise us with. It doesn't mean they will surprise us with anything they haven't talked about, but I still have things to do in game at this point and I'm not fundamentally let down by the structure of anything.

EDIT: I also keep seeing people mention this 'lazy rehashing of old content'. What are you or anyone else referring to with this? I personally haven't seen it anywhere, unless you're talking about many fights relying on similar mechanics. I suppose the combat can be a bit too shallow sometimes, but even the more complex fights feel that way once you know them well enough. That's pretty much true of everything.

    Let's put it this way:

ARR is a F2P style MMO with a P2P model - F2P MMO design are extremely popular which is why when games relaunch F2P they tend to recover dramatically after a failure.

This was primarily in regard to Ex primals and Hard mode dungeons. They are the exact same fights with a couple more things added in. As predictable as the previous. The dungeons, an atmosphere change and a couple tweaks in boss mechanics. But good point about mechanics being overused. Another thing to complain about. What I was trying to get across is, these patches are taking wayyyy too long to come out for the amount of "fresh, new" content to be released. Taking 3 months to release 2 pieces of legitimately new content and some story is too long.

Umm, F2P are "extremely" popular because they're free.

I didn't get past the statement "every content patch," being that there has been a whole whopping 2 up to this point. -.-
