    It's pretty darn obvious on some armors. Glacial Coat is nothing but pixels and low res even. And the stones in limsa.

    Thing is, the entire game engine was rebuild from scratch to work with low-res textures. The game looks terrible compared to 1.0, but there's nothing they can do to change it. They'd have to rewrite it again.

    The direct11 version would be enough to support higher res textures. The only limitation to texture size atm is the directx limitation. The moment they are on 11 they can easily bump it up.

    Ummm that's not the way it works with textures. It was the poly-count of a lot of things and an engine that was simply NOT built for an open world design that was killing it.
