Pally had ilvl 55/ AF body piece but claimed he never learned sword oath. Yeah - Had to let him go when he refused to put it on in - DD. (meant to put gg derp lol)

Running lowbie roulette at one point. Don't remember the dungeon, but it was in the upper 30s somewhere. PLD tank had to have the purpose and mechanics of Flash and Provoke explained to him. >.<

Got one today when I was leveling my Conjurer using my daily roulette. Got Copperbell Mines for something like the zillionth time this week. Whatever, starting to know this like the back of my hand. Early on, tank and one of the dps stay in the aoe of a blasting cap going off and insta-die. Whatever, no one blames me, and I don't say anything against them. Remaining dps takes care of the rest of the room and I heal them and the two others rejoin us. Next room, tank again stays in the aoe blast area, I let off a Cure just as it happens and he miraculously survives within an inch of death. I start a second cure, but get a line of sight error, turns out the tank had ran off around the corner, so I run down to try to get line of sight again, but by the time I get the cure off it's too late. Wouldn't have bothered me too badly still, except tank has the nerve to say "wtf healer", although at least when I explained they let it go.
VContinued because character post limit.

But then in the ire room, other than their initial attack, when my heals make the invincible ires get hate on me, tank makes no effort to get them off of me at all. I end up tanking them and directing the blasting caps myself.
Then, almost to the end, they announce that they have to go and their friend will be tanking over. I notice no difference, other than lack of dying. dps suggests we just take the boss down and ignore the adds, which I've done easily before with a good group where I can assist the dps, but this group makes me weary. But whatever, I just go along. Predictably, adds finish with the wall and start attacking me full force before the boss dies. I spam heals like no tomorrow and just barely manage to keep myself as well as the rest of the group alive while they finish the boss. I had a sliver when we got duty complete.

I have to say a few of you are being a bit harsh on tanks
1.tank spams overpower " I'm not healing til you have 5 stacks up" if tank don't spam overpower you moan that he only Aggros 1 mob!!!
2. "Why do tanks have to eat aoes" cos if he moves mob a inch melee dps moan about the tank messing up thier optimal damage
People wonder why there are soo few tanks ... Maybe because whatever they do, someone gets upset
Not trying to troll just saying there are multiple factors to consider in every scenario
EDIT:-
I'm not saying there aren't bad tanks cos we all know there are, BUT constantly giving them a hard time will make more tanks roll dps and thus waiting times will increase...
In short advise DON'T criticise if they don't listen then that's thier problem

Copperbell with 2 arcanist. Tank couldn't keep aggro but I didn't understand the reason. DPSs started the dungeon summoning topaz carbuncle and got angry at me because I didn't heal their pets (please, Square Enix, add a Dog Sitter Job so that these guys will be happy!) . I tried explaining that using Topaz wasn't a big idea and that it's hard for a healer to take care of pets (I'm a Ps3 user). One paid attention and switched to emerald, one kept using topaz. In the meantime, Tank wasn't keeping aggro so that all mobs were on me even though my healing didn't even replenish party members' hp bars.

If a boss is casting an AoE, they're not going to move if the tank ducks out of the AoE zone. It's literally programmed into the game for the bosses and other mobs to stop moving when using PBAoEs and other AoE attacks like frontal cones and stuff. The tank has more than enough time to duck in and back out without taking damage. Tanks that repeatedly eat heavy hitting AoEs put unnecessary strain on Healers. Especially White Mages because we have only one decent way to manage our MP should it get low (Shroud of Saints) but it has a slow cooldown (3 minutes). Scholars are better off because they get Aetherflow, which has a much faster cooldown (1 minute) and have their fairy which can help heal.
I shouldn't have to constantly spam Cure II on the Tank to keep them from dying. I shouldn't have to tell the Tank to not get hit by Bad Breath in Aurum Vale (at least not more than once.)
And yeah: Mistakes happen. Latency/Lag happens. You're going to need to eat an AoE every once in a while, or you're just not going to be able to dodge it. I get that. We all do. Most of us are totally understanding about it too, and we're usually a lot more understanding if we know its someone's first time running a dungeon.
But these stories are generally situations where this is happening over and over again and the Tanks or DPS's aren't listening in situations where they should know better.

Just did Titan HM as WHM, I have no idea how the SCH dies 3 times before heart phase and everytime we retry, the SCH dies again and again.
The furthest I could heal the team solo was to about 30% left, left a PLD, 2 DPS and me. I got gaoled and it's gg-ed.
And with all the complains about n00b melees, guess what? The 2 DPS who survived were both monk. The other 2 DPS were dead for some time, and one of them is a BARD whom I'm already wary of from the start because he has been eating avoidable damage frequently too.
Come on.. it's Titan HM.. and these people shouldn't be totally new after checking their profiles..

Listen, I am very understanding, probably more than most. I've had new tanks thank me at the end of dungeons. But if you get caught in an aoe and make it impossible for me to heal you on time and then blame me for dying, we are going to have a problem. If you don't even attempt to do your job, letting me eat all the hits without even doing one of combos to try to get anything off when there aren't understandable reasons, we are going to have a problem.
This thread isn't "giving tanks a hard time" it is "healer horror stories", which are generally things that involve bad tanks.
