Sounds like when you cannot beat it you say its hardcore but once you beat and started farming it you'll think its casual... Thats just stupid

Its because players in general dont know what they want, and something can go from "hardcore" to "casual" in a matter of seconds, from the moment people start to farm it. For me the game is great, some easy content (mainly 4 dungeons, hm primals) and some medium to hard content (im looking at you titan ex and twitana).

Actually some challenges on titan HM are worth a try
like 1 tank 7 WHM
or the 7 sch 1 smn ifrit HM. Both have been realised, yet they prove to be very difficult
I like FFXIV and I'm sick of these threads, bashing everything under the sun about it.
People like saying how easy this game is and how everything is just handed to you but the vast majority of players I know are still having trouble with Titan HM, Coil, and especially the EX Primals.
I've been playing since open beta and I play all the time and I still have a ton to do. Of course, I leveled all my crafting/gathering to 50 w/ materia stacked gear, I've almost leveled all my other jobs to 50, I'm grinding luminary achievements, and, most importantly, I actually help other people and do content I've already completed rather than thinking only of myself.
There are 4 pieces of content I still haven't beaten: T4, T5, Titan EX, and Ifrit EX. I think the game has the right amount of difficulty. Some things are "handed" to you and some things you have to work for. I think that's the way it should be.
Personal opinions vary of course but if all the content from here on out was harder than Titan EX, I'd quit this game for sure. I know I'm exposing myself to the many trolls and bullies in this community by admitting as much but I don't want SE to think that the opinions of the hardcore minority speak for all of us. Besides, there's no reason that SE can't appeal to both casual AND hardcore crowds, except for the fact that there are hardcore people who want to lock casual people out of everything instead of just enjoying the content that IS actually difficult with other like-minded people (their FC, static, or whatever).
No, I don't want every party in PF to be 1-strike and you're kicked and blacklisted, i90 for something like WP. It's already bad enough as it is. Maybe if content is too easy, you shouldn't wait hours in PF for every party member to be extremely over-geared for it? LOL

Played the beta of elder scroll, no chance for it to destroy ffxiv... will never move to that game

Or you know they could have just gave every class elemental based weapons skills, weapons, gear and buffs and then it would be balanced and there would be this huge variety that we are talking about.wrong he did it because only blm's would be allowed in ifrit because they have ice and it would do extremly high damage compared to all other classes, now think like that against every boss you fought, oh look this is weak against fire welp this is a blm battle they go from doing 1-2k to 2-4k.
it was because elemental weakness makes certain classes worthless or op, think of bone dragon if summoners couldn't dot them because they are all about poisons and such, great now you're either kicked or forced to leave because you got summoners. it makes content unfair to other classes.

I think I might be to blame, I asked in the forum for questions about the next patch if they plan to do anything different or had any surprises since they actually have some competition coming out this year, Akiza here ignored the rules of that forum and posted there, not asking a question, but trying to argue with me instead, then brought it over here to general.
I know none of the other games will "kill" this one, but they definitely will take away subscribers, ESO, still in Beta will release with a more thought out pvp system, more character customization, a little bit better guild system, and it appeals to the ESO fans.
Wildstar will at least have their credd system, people buy extra months and you buy them from those players for in game money, so after the initial purchase, it can become free to play for some, basically legal RMT for others, while taking in the money to put back into the game that a regular subscription based game would.
The new Warcraft expansion will offer a few new things, as well as what they already have, established large pvp system this game could only wish to have, garrisons that I assure you will release with plenty of content, not build and decorate it now, in 3 months we might let you have a garden, and a few months later we might give you a little more.
Everquest Next I've looked into a bit, the character customization looks like you will be able to do what you want, 4 abilities set by your weapon, then 4 you can pull from any class you unlocked/earned, and the landmark thing looks pretty cool, it might not offer as much as other games, but it will be free to play, and SOE is known for their cash shops, so they will have plenty of money coming in from that.
I just think XIV needs to step it up a bit.

When you see someones glamour with non matching boots

There is another way to play the game, the non-raiding one.More Horizontal Progression. Yes Please.
That is one thing i loved about games... where you get a good weapon and you use it to fight stuff and other content.
This is how FFXIV weapon system goes.
Day 1, get GC weapon,
Day 2, use GC weapon to get AK weapons,
Day 3, Use AK weapon to get Ifrit,
Day 4 Use Ifrit Weapon to get Garuda weapon,
Day 5 Use Garuda Weapon to get Titan,
Day 6 work toward you relic,
Day 7 Either get EX Primal Weapon or upgrade your relic, use that to get T5.
Next use T5 to get T9 Weapon.
Those that's a bit exaggerated, that how this game is.
I WANNA USE THE WEAPON FOR OTHER CONTENT DAMN IT!
I don't do raids (any more) in any game. Life is too short for that. Hardcore players are simply people with more free time than is good for them. In WoW, I do Looking For Raid because it isn't real raiding. Nor do I do the extremely time consuming, and often frustrating, quests for legendary gear or relic weapons or whatever, which anyway will become obsolete next expansion.
Basically, I'm playing this game like I play WoW. In FF14, I don't do Hard/Extreme Primals or Coils, the equivalent of raiding here. I ran King Mog till I got the 75 level weapon and am using it for everything I do, while building all my armour to 90.
I do everything else in the game (s) I have fun with. So I am out of the treadmill you mentioned. Simple enough.![]()
