No it only reduces the rate at which your gear degrades, so equipping right before you repair won't help. I would think if people are mass spiritbonding they would still use aetheryte rings over master rings because of the SB gain stat too

That's not what the OP says...

So, it doesn't really reduce the loss in durability during crafting. Instead, repair costs become less.

I QS stacks of levequest turn in items and spiritbond at the same time. Honestly, my gear is 100% SB before I run out of leves.. so I woulnd't mind if it bonded slower and my repair bills were lower - depending on how how much slower and how much lower
