So, it doesn't really reduce the loss in durability during crafting. Instead, repair costs become less.
Whew... it looks like I still have to use the Aetheryte ring.

Melded Aetheryte Ring is better anyways.
The concept of a ring awarded from crafting unique items is a good one. Execution was poor. And honestly, these are worse than the luminary tools. At least the tools are "technically better" since they are identical to the level 50 quest tool but with the durability loss stat.
However, these rings? Same base stats as Aetheryte but no melding possible? There are likely some players sporting non-melded aetheryte rings. I suppose for them they are an upgrade that doesn't take too much time to get. At least luminary tools are an "e-peen item." You can use them full time. I don't see what purpose a non-meldable aetheryte ring serves for players.
yea im not sure why you cant meld some materia in the masters rings because without that ability theyre pretty much useless items. aetheryte rings are made from only one gold nugget and one water cluster, have the same cp when theyre hq'd and a spiritbond gain. the spiritbond gain is possibly more useful than durability loss because honestly in my crafting my durabilitly has never really become an issue nor is the gil i spend repairing things. add to the fact you can add on extra craftsmanship, control and cp to the aetheryte and its just obviously a better item overall.
i wish i can put those special masters items to good use but unfortunately once i get them they go straight into storage, forever unused. kinda sad really.
At least it's not the fishing ring, which gets GP despite the job not using it.
Could see using these for lower level synths if I could be bothered to care about what little repair costs crafters have. Useless as the luminary tool update; at least it's an easier goal to achieve.
Could you just equip the master's ring right before you repair to make repair costs less?
If you're mass crafting to spiritbond other gear these seem useful?
That's not what the OP says...I QS stacks of levequest turn in items and spiritbond at the same time. Honestly, my gear is 100% SB before I run out of leves.. so I woulnd't mind if it bonded slower and my repair bills were lower - depending on how how much slower and how much lower![]()
I feel like you misunderstood me mainly because I didn't use the proper wording. I apologize about that.
What I meant was that I was hoping that these new rings would make me a better crafter by reducing the durability used during steps especially during synthesis. But unfortunately, even with these rings, the durability used (without waste not buff) is still 10. Which is the reason why I'm disappointed.
I didn't really do enough crafting warrant the effects of the rings on gear durability. Again, I apologize for that.
What I'm saying is that for an accessory that is not easy to acquire, the reward is not worth it. What's worse is that it's just a waste of inventory space.
I failed at reading comprehension - my bad. I agree that it's a little underwhelming. I would like it to be the aetherite ring PLUS the reduced damageI feel like you misunderstood me mainly because I didn't use the proper wording. I apologize about that.

I am lv 50 in all crafts and never saw a reason to complete the log. I guess this is something for those who did bother to complete the log... It's not motivation for me to do so - oh well.
