Yoshida explained that before the changes they did whole CT worked like the Atomos part. I'm sure without the changes with the players we have that would had be a frustration content. There are still enough players wiping at Atomos.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1911521GW: How was it originally, was it much harder?
Y: It was hard. You’ll probably end up wiping on the first room to the left more than 5, 6 times. (laugh).
GW: Was the individual mobs a lot stronger?
Y: No, the gimmick used was hard. You know how there is the section where it separates into 3 sections by A, B, C and you need to have people standing on the platform to remove barrier from other team, so they can hit? Almost everything was like that. And we said that’s impossible, if one team can’t output enough DPS it wiped everyone and was way too hard.
This would be against the materia lore.
Droping rare NM gear that can be spiritbound in rare materia work better with the lore.

Depends on the actual Moderator... and flaming was there right on the first Site straight going to Yoshi and how he fails to understand how Endgame works, replacing him with Tanaka etc. Like it or not, i call that flaming.
Exactly..
People on this Forum somehow believe that everyone is at the same Level of "Gear" and "Skill", but no ..those who reached the Climax are the Minority and what seems to be "easy" for "you" guys, was far away from being easy when you first did encounter the given Content. Getting Practice, getting used to it and mastering a given Content does not lower its actual level of difficulty, it just became easier for said reason to "you".
Just that certain FC goes out and Slay Hard-Mode Primals in Vanity-Gear, does not mean that everyone can do that. That people got used to Ex-Primals and pretty much one-shot them, does not mean everyone can, that people go into Ex-Primal with what.. 6? healers and beat it, does not mean everyone can.. in fact we are talking about a minority here. And while i also do want harder Content, Epic Timesinks and what some of you would call "hardcore content", for some it is allready in the Game.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by materia lore. ???
What I meant by 1.x NM mechanics is literally the 5 minute maximum time to pop and a crafting item drop that could then be crafted into gear. Since SE doesn't seem to like the idea of crafted gear being on par or more powerful than what you can get from dungeons/philo/myth, I suggested NMs dropping materials for vanity gear. I know collectionists (pokemon generation) would eat that up.
BS how can you say {The players with actual potential to keep the game alive and thriving, I.e. "Hardcore" players} there the ones that max out things in any game they play and hop game to game they are the ones that are never happy with anything since not all but a lot of them have no real life they sit and play non stop and sorry but if you have that much time on your hands then what do they deserve a medal? the game has not been out long and it's to early to tell were it's going. But by a year and a haf i'm sure we will know the thing that keeps the game running is fans and ppl that are happy with what they got not just hardcore
I enjoyed the 1.xx NM's. The items they dropped were marginally better than what you could equip at that level and if you wanted the item you could go out and farm it until you got it. The drop rates weren't as brutal as they were in ffxi (1/83 jaggedy earred jack) but the items still were just handed to you.I remember jackanapes dropping the owl bow for bard, and it was better than anything that could be equipped at the time (i think it was a lvl 25ish bow I don't recall) and it wasn't something you had to have, but if you wanted something a little bit better and were willing to put in a little (and when i say little i mean little, 5 minute respawns) you were able to get the item you were after. Nothing like camping lottery spawns like leaping lizzy/valkurm emperor/stray mary back in 11 but it was something that would keep you logged in.
If they brought back the rare NM's like they had in ffxi, even the lottery spawn nms with worth while rare item drops, I'd be logged in, hunting monsters instead of logging out and playing starbound/ps4.
I left the game back in December due to the fact that with the exception of t5 and titan ex at the time of patch 2.0 the game felt too easy and too small.
I am not what I consider hard core.. I play ffxiv like 5hrs a week outside of logging In and chatting with people. I am not top teir as far as skill goes and yet I have cleared most everything this game has to offer... There is no reaction in this game all it is is memorizing a pattern and honestly if you can't memorize a pattern you probably should look into other forms of entertainment like reading or movies, where the cognitive part is done for you (not hating on reading btw I read 2+ books a week since not much to do in ffxiv)
People who say wait a year when the next expansion comes out there will be more content that's what ffxi did we didn't get it till late.... No you will have that patches content to do that's it the old content won't be worth doing unless you need it to clear you will be just as bored then as you are now stop fooling yourselves into thinking otherwise.
And content isn't the only problem one of the biggest issues with 1.0 was server stability and that's still a huge issue now and it's not just Mondays it happened to me entire group in AV Friday my coil group thursday 90k issues plague plenty clicking on a fruit locking everyone in the group 20s of no one able to do anything as the first boss picks us off 1 by 1 because instance server lags out. It really is a shame.

So most of you posting here are long time MMO players. That being said I've sure you've been around long enough to notice what is likely approaching. What keeps you all clinging to your hope? The guy who made the game you used to like is no longer at the helms of this ship. The likely hood of them listening to you all is small. But though you are "few" in number here I often consider the fact that there are in all actually way more players who are bored and planning to go they just aren't here to post.
Distractions are coming and some of us already are drawn to them, new mmo's, EQN, exclusive titles to next consoles.. Etc. people tell me it's money that makes businesses do what they do. I don't think that's always the case... DMC: DmC was a game that like this game garnered a lot of hatred by fans of the older game. The older gen exclaimed that they did not like how easy it has become not the current direction of the game. Like this game DMC had optimists. "Give it time" mantra being thrown every which way till the day of release.
Do you know what happened? The game wasn't successful. Optimists asked the fans against DMC to vote with their wallets and they indeed did so. The game did not meet sales expectations at all and would eventually go on sale very quickly..(then thrown up on PSN for free later). I don't mind you all choosing to stay, but I do think you all should ask yourselves "Is it time for me to start voting with my wallet) money talks is none sense. I know of a game where both casual and hardcore alike dare to topple it.. Dark Souls.
Anyway I'm venting because I just do not believe the vocal ones are in the minority, rather they are willing to speak up for something they feel passion for and I can both respect and admire that. And it is in my opinion that those dissatisfied continue to do so even after. We may never see the changes you want here and now. But it will certainly make them consider investing in this direction next time.
*apologies for typos I'm on my phone*

I dont know if I'm hardcore or not. But I didn't resub because I don't want to pay 15 dollars a month to only play on Monday and constantly be locked out of things because they have no clue how to make content last.
Aion released with a 48man dungeon God knows how many dungeons. Multiple gear sets, pvp and much much more. Wildstar is also releasing with 40man raids lots of dungeons pvp and much much more. Every f2p game I've played has released with a lot of content. I've never played a game that released with barely anything to do and then locks you out of the little crumb of stuff you can do. Besides saying "give it time" means nothing if all Yoshi is going to do is continue with this flawed design of just making the game a lobby.
They sold 1.8m copies and then released the numbers that they had 600k ACTIVE SUBS.
