I never really understood the complaints about animation lock. I actually like animation lock. I hate games that let you stop the animation to start another skill, yet you still get the damage of both of them. That is in no way realistic and completely breaks the little immersion that games have these days, not to mention it completely ruins the point of having animations.
We might as well just stand there throwing numbers at each other the very millisecond you press the button.
I saw a lot of complaints about the Paladin skill that stops you taking damage for 10 seconds (I forget the name, haven't played in about a month) just because there was 1 or 2 seconds before the spell took effect. Probably should have used it earlier...
Honestly, you might as well play button mashing games or really old MMORPG's if you want this kind of gameplay. With the growth of technology comes the growth of games. There's a reason old FF games were turn-based and not action-based.
