    I really hate to use WOW as an example because I am so over that game, however, none of their dungeons were timed and its not like you had parties spending all day and night chilling in the dungeons sipping tea and crumpets. People always think of the 1% negative possibility of a situation and try to make that the rule. A good game will present a situation and allow their players to play the way they want, and figure out the technicalities of server lag and what not. You dont give someone a less-than-experience because you want to keep from having to fix issues. Now I am not saying that is why SE is timing their dungeons, because frankly I just think that they enjoy timed dungeons. I am just responding to your post.

    WoW currently has one heroic dungeon with a timer, Zul'aman a rehash but its not necessary to complete it in the time allotted but doing so will net you a mount. Perhaps this is something Square could do to give players incentive & challenge.

    I'm not sure exactly what to think about this time limit. My knee jerk reaction was kinda "wtf?" but I don't know what's in it yet or how it's going to play so it's hard to know if that feeling was justified or not.

    I hope there's thoughtful content within these dungeons, not just something shallow that's just content for the sake of content. We'll see soon I guess.

    Everyone is aware that this is one of many instances/Raids to come? Did you really expect a 5 hour raid for the 1st one released? If so, you are an idiot. It's new content, on a new system. It's been changed from top to bottom pretty much since day 1. There would be so many problems. Quite frankly, I'm not worried about raids in the future. SE knows how to make time consuming group based objectives. For example. Does anyone remember how long some Dynamis's would be? Better yet, camping kings every day, grinding. SE is the master of wasting time. They will make some time consuming raids. Be careful what you ask for. You just might get it.

    Dungeon only take about 30min anyways so why you complaining about the time limit? i hope there also a limit you can do per day which make ppl not get all the best gear within 1-2hour of it release. If you think it going to be wow you should just quit this is not Blizzard this is SE that how they do there events with time limit and how many you can do per day. So please stop the b******* you never going to have something without time limit and that a good thing make us enjoy the dungeon more then just spam spam spam oh look got all my gear forget that dungeon now.

    Frankly in this time limit I thought we'd have at least 5 dungeons already in the game that are longer than 5hrs.
    Also you're calling people idiots but at the same time you expect that SE has learned anything good from developing XI?

    I somehow doubt that what you'll get for clearing the dungeon faster will be just a mount.

    Though if you want a story-connected timed dungeon, you could also mention Caverns of Time: Culling of Stratholme. Which again netted you a mount and an extra badge to trade in for gear. Wasn't a bad deal and you could meet the conditions with some gear and after learning the dungeon. Here's the kicker, though: stuff like ZA and CoS worked because they were dungeons for level capped players. Neither was mid-game content. Which means you're not gonna gear up and learn the dungeon, but instead outlevel it. (Edit: And before you even think about it, level caps in the dungeons would be a very sloppy way of combating that)

    That and I somehow can't bring myself to trust SE's developers to be that good at dungeon design, though.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    You people try to find anything just to complain Time limit make it so you don't get all the dam gear within 1day. I bet they be a limit how many you can do per day also which mean you be doing them more then just one day. I'm sure they even have quest and puzzle and other thing you need to get in the dungeon to make you go there more and more. Which is better then wow you go in do them 1-10+ times get your gear never see the light of the dungeon again.
