I've seen a thread on reddit where a GM forced the poster to change his Chocobo's offensive name, so I can see them forcing FC leaders to change offensive names.

Some replies here are truly facepalm worthy. There's two things; a) You can almost never change anyone's mind on the internet and b) Lots of trolls who are just bored.
If it's offensive to you, for whatever reason, report explaining why you think so in the ticket and let the GM handle it.

You can easily change Chocobo's name, but you can't change your FC's name. The only thing you can change in regards with your FC is the Tag.

What a sad, sad person. "I'm not offended by something, so you shouldn't be either" doesn't leave your argument with a leg to stand on i'm afraid.
OP, all you can do is report it if you think something is actually offensive, in the end it will be SE's descision if they wish to make them change it. If it's what you hinted at earlier in the thread, I hope they do, keeping the game as friendly to as many people as possible would be a wise descision.
Or, or...or. It's just the truth. Everyone has most likely been offended by something at one point. The ones that clearly go way out of there way to get back at something someone said that they found "offensive" is quite sad. I mean its not even directed at him and the fc name is obviously a joke. I'm not talking about freedom of speech really, cause I dont think there should be fc names like "I hate x" but that fc name is just not offensive, at all and OP is just...mad =T
I am sad :< Sad about the fact that a lot of people don't know how to grow up and get over trivial stuff.
Here's the thing about the 1st Amendment a lot of people on the internet don't seem to understand when they bring it up about how it gives them the 'right' to continue acting like children on the internet:So basically, you are saying multiple things. A) words don't matter B) therefore, people can say whatever they want (freedom of speech) C) People who do not get offended by words are mature (your comment about WOW being mature communities because they do not mind offensive speech)
Judging from how you weaved insults such as pathetic and accusing people others as being mad and spiteful, you are probably just protecting your "freedom" of saying whatever you want whenever you want.
1. An obvious one, but apparently not so much to some folks: The 1st Amendment only applies...in the US.
2. The big one, the 1st amendment does NOT protect you from suffering any negative consequences whatsoever from saying whatever you want to say. It merely says that the US congress cannot regulate it or pass any law abridging it.
That second part means that private entities, so long as they're not breaking any laws, can do whatever they want with their own property. If you're posting on a forum owned by SE, which we all are, you're on their private property. They can remove you from their property for whatever reason they want. You could be spouting childish insults, you could be making a point, hell they could remove you from the forums or their game because they just don't like you.
So to the whole point of the thread, I'm pretty confident there's something in the TOS about any offensive names whatsoever so just send a complaint to the GMs like you would any player name and they'll either act on it or not.
Everyone has something that offends them. Just because you don't find it offensive doesn't mean they are wrong for feeling that it is. Take a moment and think about what offends you, and you try and get over it.
Some people seem to find people being offended over words that are meant to hurt, offensive. Get over it.
If a Free Company didn't want to deal with the possibility of having to change their FC name because someone found it offensive enough to report, they shouldn't make a potentially offensive FC name in the first place. It's not like there aren't millions of options that could be used instead.
If you report them they may be forced to change the FC name.
My friend called his FC uSuck. Got reported, GM temp changed it to FC Name TBC, when he is ready to change it he needs to contact a GM.
