    Unless you add AA to sweetfx there is actually zero fps drop (well maybe 1).
    Also, been using it for a while in other games and i have no idea what instability you are even talking about.

    If you edit the settings file yourself and enable things such as Bloom and HDR then it will cause an FPS dip, maybe not a lot but it still does, and about the instability I've had it a couple times before, almost as if the game doesn't like a particular setting and it'll just crap out and not even make it to the title screen.

    Furthermore, FXAA is blurry as hell and I don't consider SMAA as being proper anti-aliasing compared to say 8xMSAA which gives a much better overall image quality as the AA is executed during rendering instead of just being a less-than-accurate post-processed AA method a la SMAA... but unfortunately due to the nature of how FFXIV ARR renders its visuals it doesn't support forced MSAA
