Let me clue you in. Any time the developers have change an existing element of their game, they have to expend resources in the form of human hours and money to do so. Plus it also translates to downtime to implement these changes.
This is why the developers have to pick and choose where they want to pool their resources. They aren't dumb enough to focus their attention on the mob of nerds who want more e-ass in their final fantasy.
Normally, I'd say reality_check was trying to derail the topic, but by being a huge butt, he fits in perfectly. I, too, would like this addressed.
Are you seriously worried about downtime for a mesh change, seriously? If this was changed, all it would be a quick patch for the client side that I doubt would effect anyone till they restarted the game. All this change did was show how half-assed SE seems to be when it comes to modeling and how lazy they want to be when it comes to designing new gear, not that there is too much variety as it stands now.
Roda I love you, those pictures explain the problem perfectly. We're not asking for asses that one would see in a rap video, we just want something that looks natural, that shows there is actual muscle there.

Why does everyone care so much about the butts?
Because we used to them, then they got taken away. The 1.xx players who are asking for butts/better bodies aren't asking for them 'cause of perversion or whatever, we're asking to have them back.
I'll do that! I'll even take a comparison pic later with mostly the same gear.
Cry harder. I appreciate a nice posterior but if lack of curves in a game is that much of an issue, maybe you'd be happier buying a Blade & Soul account instead of throwing a fit here.
The muscle is present, what's missing is fat. Fat is what gives a curvy figure.
From a lore viewpoint, the absence of fat on our characters can be explained as lack of food due loss of crops/famine after the calamity and the physically active lifestyle of an adventurer.

Because they're shaped wrong.
Not because we want some juicy booty to stare at, like so many people assume.
(well, some might, but that's not the most serious issue about these meshes)
Awwe
Staahp iit u~
But yeah. This.

For people that played 1.0, I can honestly say that it's the lack of butts that is distracting.
No matter what character model (except maybe Lalafell) the extraordinarily flat posterior in 2.0, compared to the realistic proportions in 1.0 is really jarring to see.
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
More comparisons! I can't do it in the same spot 'cause SE nuked Iron Lake.
1.xx: Dem hips!
2.xx: Dem... Where'd they go?!
