My theory is that their character artists are full of anime fans when they replaced the 1.0 team. Hence no knowledge of anatomy/observational skills.

As I recall this was the actual reason. They were lowering poly counts for the game as a whole.

Considering some of the female models in XI are curvier..it's definitely not limitations. They stated back in beta it's to allow Female Roe and Male Mioqte ontop of makin it easier and faster to create armor - The other reason they got rid of visible Belts.

And sometimes, certain "pants" pieces (mostly those that just are panties) look like they are a bit slipped because of the lack of butt, which makes them look quite kinky from certain angles
