Couldn't have said it better BlackHaloJT.

The Yoshi-P from 1.0 in my eyes is no more. He went from being the "savior" that fixed a jumbled mess (or did he? maybe he was following tanakas plans before they canned him)

To a corporate suit. I can understand wanting money, but don't think for one single second that ARR delivered on his 1.0 promise. If anything I lost more respect for SE due to Yoshida rather than Tanaka.

Agreed. I said it before a number of times. Yoshi in 1.xx was our saviour. He took the admittedly bad game in 1.0 (though I still played it religiously) and turned it into the amazing game that was 1.23. I still get chills watching the end of an era video because I was there when Dalamud fell. Me and my friends and acquaintances were standing in front of Llymlaen's symbol in Limsa, eyes pointed towards Dalamud, and we waited. After it fell we were all excited for the future, but something happened. Yoshi went from being our saviour, from someone who spoke to the community on equal terms and who seemed to care about game and its players, to being just another corporate yes-man, making up excuses for everything.

1.0 Yoshi would never have told us, "We won't have movement animations/inertia in game because some players find it stressful." He'd have told us straight, "we don't have it anymore because it takes time to code."
1.0 Yoshi would never have said "We reduced/changed the lower half of character models because of all the time and money it would take away from making actual content. Please look forward to it." He'd probably have said, "The move to the new rendering engine changed some things and we're too lazy to fix it."
1.0 Yoshi would never have said "We've reduced the functionality of fishing. We don't want it to have any actions or impact on the economy because we want it to be a 'conversation with nature,' and also to fight bots." He'd have said, "We're going to make fishing - and gathering and crafting too - more awesome because to hell with the bots. I got rid of fatigue and I changed the rate of gathering fatigue because FIGHTING BOTS BY PUNISHING THE PLAYERS DOESN'T WORK."

I miss 1.xx Yoshi. From day 1 in 2.0 I realised, the amazing game that was 1.23 may have been because Yoshi was locked to doing his great works inside Tanaka's world. Now we have 2.0, and it's Yoshi's world through and through, and I don't know if I like it. Like BlackHalo said, I'm only sticking around in hopes that it gets better. I did quit, for about a month. I came back for my own personal reasons, but I did quit. I want to not have to do that again.

This exactly how I felt. I get chills watching that video to this day and remembering what the game used to be like. I was excited for the future after what Yoshi delivered to us in 1.23. Now I look around and wish the Calamity took out ARR instead. I cannot say everything about ARR is bad and yes Version 1 was hard on cp's and they needed to ease requirements and expand the game to a larger audience. But they ripped everything they built upon in 1.23 and just went the corporate lame copy other games way. Believe it or not I do read a lot forums and many comments from other topics and I can respect that some people really like ARR. I just wish they would of blended what 1.23 had to offer to something new and exciting like they promised us version 1 players back then. I also keep hearing about how new this game is and we should wait for further content to judge how the game will turn out. Sounds like Deja'vu to me.

Yeah, the "the game just came out, give it time!" excuse grates quite a bit. We gave it time, in fact we gave it nearly three years of time. I realise 1.0 to 1.23 was a two year difference, but saying that "it took 1.0 two years to get as good as 1.23 was, so give 2.0 time" doesn't work for me, because 1.23 was already great.

Yes I realise it's a new game. It still bothers me that they took a step back. Too much was changed just for the sake of changing it.
