Of course there's always a chance for someone to lie about exp when joining a group. That's pretty much a given. However now if they turn out not to be lying, then they will actually know the mechanics. They wont just know how to exploit the enrage.

I have never done T2 the enrage way. But I am glad they buffed the enrage damage, better late then never. SE probably never thought people would figure out the way to make it so you don't have to do any of the mechanics on a fight.
All the abilities the ADS uses are from nodes, including Allagan Rot. If you kill the Quarantine Node, ADS has no rot, so when the timer goes down to zero, there's no rot to detonate. It's intentional, of course; the tradeoff is that you give the ADS a 50% attack speed buff instead. The rot gives you a hard timer and greater coordination needs, the Quarantine Node route gives you a soft timer but beats the ever-loving piss out of you along the way. The design goal was that you can go either way. Problem is, Quarantine route is an absolute nightmare, so nobody ever goes that way, enrage timer or no. SE just did a poor job of balancing the fight.
What I don't understand is why T2 has an enrage mode to begin with. If SE wants to buff it so that people don't resort to enrage tactics, it's indicating they don't want people to fight it through its enrage mode... so why is that mode even there to begin with then? Why not just do one of the usual insta-fail 9999 damage things a minute after the 0 click?
Because in the gear the event is tuned for and the party comp raids are designed for you could never survive... People walk in overgeared and with 1 tank/3 heals in pugs.
Did not plan for the thread to become a "you need skills to clear T2' thread. Just wanted to know if people had same issues we had which seem to be the case.

They said they considered it "not an exploit". This is not the same as "working as intended". In fact, they very clearly said that the "enrage" method was NOT an intended way to complete Turn 2, but that it wasn't considered an exploit (and thus, not bannable) to employ it. They also said they had no plans to change it at the time but never said they'd never change it.
Jeez Square Enix are such jerks! Then why would they post something LIKE THIS and then screw us over!?!?!

Hmm unless you can provide a different quote, they never said "enrage method was NOT an intended way to complete Turn 2." So not sure what you're going on about. They said they considered it "not an exploit". This is not the same as "working as intended". In fact, they very clearly said that the "enrage" method was NOT an intended way to complete Turn 2, but that it wasn't considered an exploit (and thus, not bannable) to employ it. Passing the rot is so easy I don't know why people would want to sit around waiting for enrage. The hardest part of the turn is ensuring not one high voltage is missed. That comes down to the reaction skills of your BRDs and PLDs.
This should have been patched months ago.
