I wouldnt necessarily say avoid macros, but definitely avoid them within your main rotation. To help you out with your macro, you may want to try

    /ac Demolish
    /ac Demolish
    /ac Demolish
    /ac Demolish
    /ac "Touch of Death"

You are probably pressing your macro button slightly before its ready, meaning it skips your first action going on to your Touch of Death. Since Demolish is the last skill in your rotation to refresh GL, its not something you want to chance.

This macro allows you to press early, since its skipping commands until one is ready. this gives you more chance to use Demolish when its ready, and when its not it will still proc ToD

Only other macro id advise using are for "Fists of" skills, DMG buffs, stuns and Maybe AoE

So. Will I ever not be using my job crystal? Like, is it more efficient to play as pugilist instead of monk while soloing, just for the extra CC skills? If so, what are the ten skills I should take for solo play?

I'm assuming the first five are Blood for Blood, Invigorate, Mercy Stroke, Bloodbath, and Fracture. What would the other five be?

Nah, you'll probably be on your job crystal all the time. Fists of Fire and Dragon Kick are too good, and PGL/MNK aren't really the best to solo on.

This. Nothing needs a "solo class" any class can solo any open world content so your really best off playing a ranged for this. Makes life easier

Can I ask you all what kind of dps you're seeing on the training dummies - If you had to estimate it - of course! :P

    My best parses have been:

~385 for i90 with Allagan Baghnakhs, not BiS.

205 wearing the 5 pieces of AF and ilv 55 NQ crafted relic-base weapon. No belt, no accessories.

Of course no food, pots or party buff.

in situations where dodging isn't a real issue, where you can really go balls to the wall my rotation, one GL3 stacked is:

DK>TwS>ToD>Dem, Boot>TS>SP, DK>TwS>SP, Boot>TS>Dem, DK>TwS>SP>ToD, Boot>TS>SP, Dk>TwS>Dem(@this point, ToD has ~16secs, dem fresh 18secs), Boot>TS>SP, DK>TwS>SP, Boot>TS>SP.... And return to beginning... it seems long winded, but positioning is pretty minimal, dots are damn close to 100% uptime, with very minimal clipping, maybe 1-2secs at most, and buffs are 100% up.. that's just the basic without actual OGCD buffs thrown in, which you can do what's best for you. I tend to throw on B4B right before the first Boot sequence, and I have
    internal release macrod to SP..
I know it's not the best, but I think it's pretty good

Best thing to do as a MNK, fundamentally, is stop thinking in terms of rotation and think more in terms of priority. The only static thing in a MNK's sequence of skills is the opener.

I totally agree. I cringe a little bit when people talk about Monk "Rotation". Conditions change during battle and restricting yourself to a rotation entails not actually reacting to those conditions appropriately. The skills you use and the order you use them need to be completely dynamic. Otherwise, you're losing a lot of DPS.

I'd even go as far as saying that it isn't necessarily about priority either. I prioritize Touch of Death and Demolish pretty highly, but I wouldn't use it on Titan when he's seconds away from jumping.
