* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

I love what this thread's conversation evolved into xD
And just FYI, I can be used for snu-snu :P

I think it could be possible for them to make a mixed species like what occured in FFXI. Lilisette from there always comes to mind, mixed with both Hume and Elvaan, she was really pretty. All we have ATM would be F'lhaminn who is umconfirmed as being mixed but most agree.. If she was intended for this, then I wish they would have defined the mix even more like Lilisette.

Man... I remember a post from a long time ago that I cannot for the life of me FIND again
But it states that cross-breeds exist, but they are born of the race of one of the two parents. Although, of course, rumor without proof is worth nothing, and I cannot find this proof of mine, so take that as you will.

I shall add my personal thoughts... I think that any of the races could have sex with the others so long as they're careful and creative about it. However, crossbreeding depends heavily on the genetic makeup of the two races. For example, a Hyur and an Elezen could have a child, but a Hyur and a Miqo'te cannot.

or they could be races.. and CAN cross breed. As a biologist, I really dislike SE using "race" to describe the well, species.
*INC SCIENCE*
In the game, the races should be called "Species", cause that's what they are. Races are within species. Species cannot cross breed. Birds can't have babies with humans. Humans can't have babies with sharks. HOWEVER, difference races (or breeds) can mate and have children. We see this in dogs. 2 different breeds of dogs mate to create a mixed dog.
"Races" was prolly used cause it sounds better than "species". The clans are more like races. 2 clans can mate and create hybrid offspring. F'lammin is one NPC who has a Seeker parent and a Keeper parent. She has a Seeker name, but Keeper features (dilated eyes, fangs, etc).
*END OF SCIENCE!*
In before "OMG IT'S A FANTASY"
no one said they can't

Something like "sex" is a very possible concept. On the other hand the actual breeding might not be possibility due to simple genetic reasons.
Of course this is all speculation, as especially Hyurs, Elezens and Miqo'tes are very alike with each other. Which could indicate having almost identical genetic structure.
I can't into tanking

SE did confirm/canon that the races -can- have "mixed" kids.
My only beef with that is, how do you make a half Lala, half anything else?
@ Ramira; Hyurs, Elezen and Miqo'te are that alike to you?
I find Roegadyns more closely resemble Hyurs and Elezen than Miqo'te do.
(Highlanders are about the size/build to be mistaken as Roegadyns, and this can be used derivatively among Midlanders... or other races...?)
It's the (shape and location of) ears and the tail that I don't think Miqo'te are that genetically close to any other race.
Between Hyurs, Elezen and Roegadyns, there's just the body size, some portion differences, and the pointy/roundy-ness of the ears.
(Everything in this post is IMO, and just my 'two cents'.)
Silly thought here...
Lalafells maybe evolved from Meerkats or hamsters?
