Takes way more skill to play melee than ranged honestly. If you say otherwise, you're lying to yourself. Dodging tail swipes, repelling cannons, boss melee aoes like Rams Voice, ballast, cleaves, wicked wheel.

For every melee aoe there is usually a ranged aoe you have to dodge, piercing laser, dragon's voice, WotL are harder on casters, movement in general is harder on casters. I am consistently pulling top numbers over Blackmages and usually equal with our i89 smn, Its not hard, the game is not melee unfriendly, it just requires skill.....not a lot, just some...
