I made big money on the transmog market in WoW for quite some time before I quit. There are always people out there looking for clothes to dress their characters up in.The problem with that idea, however, is that it wouldn't be consumable, and thus also unsustainable. The way glamours are being done, assuming the crystal is slotted in a materia-like fashion, means you will have to buy another crystal every time you upgrade a piece of gear. This is (potentially) a consistent revenue stream, whereas new gear sets would just be 1-and-done if slotted in vanity slots.
That would honestly depend on NPC sale value. If they NPC for 20 gil or more why would you sell them for less and make less money? I've seen it a few times, some items sell for 10-20 through NPC and the market board has them for 1 gil a piece. I assumed they were from bots because the NPC value is way better than the market board value as a seller and I'd rather NPC the item if that were the case. If they give a preset value for the Vanity Prisms, I sure as hell hope people with common sense would know not to sell it below the NPC value if they are selling to make money. Otherwise they are wasting both their time and their resources.

Exactly, Transmog destroyed the gear (correct me if I'm wrong on this), so if someone wanted to maintain a look they had to keep buying from you. If WoW had done LotRO-style vanity slots you wouldn't have made nearly as much.
Sorry, but the market will be so flooded that your "constant revenue stream" will be less than 10 gil a pop. Also, wow did not destroy the item with transmog.
Some people don't seem to care about actually making gil. I used to buy dyes from the vendor and then sell them on the MB for crazy amounts. I'd spend 200 on 5 Blood red, and then sell the set for 1-2K. And people bought them constantly. Why they bought them, I haven't a clue, as you can buy them cheap at the vendor, but the fact is, I made a few hundred K gil before people started putting the same 5 set on the MB for 220 gil. That's right, they're making a wopping 20 gil a sale! Honestly, at that point, why even do the work to buy and post the stuff? RMT maybe? I don't know, but it just goes to show that people will still sell stuff on the MB.. even if they're basically making no money by doing it.That would honestly depend on NPC sale value. You use a glamour crystal (or glamour prism) to copy a gear style and add it to another gear (maybe gears get a slot for glamour prisms like the one for dyes). The new gear get another style while the original still exist. Only the glamour prism get consumed.ow? I was hoping that there will be a single extra slot for a Glamour/Prism. So you can "save" a look by a crafter and that item just changes your appearance regardless of the equipment you change.
Or at least that's how I thought I'd be like. If you have to have to change the looks of every single piece, it'll be a huge pain in the arse tbh..
Crafters create the glamour prism and only unused can be traded (so nobody can trade glamour prisms with allagan style as example).
This is how i understand it.
If you want only a specific look, buy 20 prisms from a crafter and copy the look from every gear you want to them.
Then you can use them the moment you get another gear.
New crafted vanity gears (like the Highlander set and the Glacier set) are coming with 2.2

Which means you will have to keep a stack of crystals plus your chosen gear on you in order to quickly glamour new equipment you receive. So, the biggest issue will be inventory space. Especially if you're an altaholic and have multiple classes you're leveling up.You use a glamour crystal (or glamour prism) to copy a gear style and add it to another gear (maybe gears get a slot for glamour prisms like the one for dyes). For me...
Pug/Monk = Bohemian set
Archer/Bard - Foestriker set
Arcanist/Scholer/Summoner = Acolyte set
Those are the three I still need to do quite a bit of leveling so, those three sets will have to stay in my inventory for quick glamours. Running to the retainer each time would get annoying.
Or just keep 1 prepped crystal on you for each slot. Next time you are back in town after you use the prepped crystal, prep a new one with the gear/crystal from the retainer. Surely you don't upgrade the same slot often enough to need to carry the gear with you.Which means you will have to keep a stack of crystals plus your chosen gear on you in order to quickly glamour new equipment you receive. Glamour crystals with the same image may stack, as well, which would solve the problem too.
They need to just copy the "Style" system in DCUO.
You gain the style just by equipping the item and have it forever. You don't even need to keep gear equipped in the slot. You can adjust the color (up to 3 different colors per armor slot). You do NOT need to keep the item you like the style for in your inventory. styles could be bought at vendors or gained by acquiring them on new armor pieces.
