Well there is this quote from Yoshi P from an interview held last year around this time of the year:

First of all, we are planning a new race for an expansion pack. For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.

About what I want to introduce- it’s more like what I think I have to introduce. Something related to guns because the (musketeer) guild in the game. Something related to that I think I have to introduce.

Also I do feel that scouting classes are lacking so I want to bring in Theif, Ninja and those that have to do with stealth. Also more casters like Blue Mage and Red Mage are something I would like to add.

Whatever the players want, I want too.

The only problem I see with that quote is, during the recent live letters SMNs were asking about new egis. Yoshi said there will be new egis when the next expansion comes along with lvl cap increase.
I can't confirm this next part, but I heard from FC member that Yoshi had promised a new lvl cap & classes for 2.2. This was early last year before they delayed CT to 2.1. So I'd say that if we don't see new class in 2.3, we won't see it until expansion.

In a new feature on Polygon, YoshiP says the expansion will have as much content as the 2.0 launch did, so I am expecting new lands to explore, with new guilds, with new classes and jobs to discover. Maybe a great number of them! I think they are saving a large amount of content for us.

I just read that. If what he says about the amount of content to come in the first expansion...I'm excited! Could Ninja and maybe another tank class be coming at the same time? I mean to say that amount of content will be included for an expansion? That's pretty huge.

I've learned to not get my hopes up anymore. Im honestly not expecting a new job until expansion which should be.around the year mark which in this case it would be in August....the only job I can see them adding before the expansion is ofcourse musketeer and that's only because the actual guild is already implemented in Limsa.

I just got into LNC (15) so now I want to level it to 50 and get the gear for it. I welcome 6 months before next big update VERY happily at this point. Can't wait for ps4 release tho. Anyone getting the Collector's Edition?

I want new jobs. None of my favorite classic ff jobs are in this game yet. I have no interest in musketeer. I want Ninja I want Dark Knight I want Samurai, to start with.
