This is FFXIV, yo. People are used to FATE leveling, getting carried, solo levelling to 50, etc that when they reach some content that *actually* requires you to put some thoughts into it, they get caught with their pants down.

Yoshi-P wanted the *real* game to start to 50, and this is the result. Basically, this is the destiny of every FFXIV content that requires some challenge.

I do think that Pharos Sirius is a bit of a challenge due to its non-conformity to other dungeons of its kind. I think it's fun and actually somewhat easy to beat, but only so long as my teammates aren't intent on speed-running it.

Cant you just undergear yourself and then queue up for duty roulette, then change into your higher level gear afterwards? Or does it not work like that (I dunno I have never queued for high level roulette lol)
Nope. The HMs and Pharos have an ilvl requirement of 48, and so does that particular roulette itself. It will not even let you flag that DR if you try to undergear yourself, regardless of whether you even have those dungeons unlocked.

Raising the ilvl required a bit seems fair.

I don't understand why we even still have leveling at all in MMOs if they're going to make it so easy up until less-skilled players slam into a wall at max level content. Why don't newly-created characters have all their skills already and start the "real game" at the beginning, and (heaven forfend) have lots more "real" content with a gentler difficulty slope? This game in particular has it a little backwards, since most jobs have skills whose proper use are crucial to their rotation not being learned until level 50 (I'm looking at you, Lustrate, Shadow Flare, Enkindle, Medica II, Flare, Dragon Kick, and... probably every 50 skill really). So not only does the content become more difficult, in most cases your rotation fundamentally changes at 50, which lots of players apparently do not seem to understand.

Add to this that the "leveling game" doesn't really prepare you for things to change so much at 50 since the skill cap for the whole thing is so low and it goes so fast, and you've got a recipe for people constantly begging you to nerf everything because they can't do it, because it requires them to actually formulate and execute a strategy.

This in turn causes players who are skilled and understand how the game works to seek each other out and avoid mixing with the community as much as they possibly can, keeping especially the most skilled tanks and healers out of the DF queue, and even out of Party Finder for the most part, because they are able to clear things easily with their static group and aren't interested in helping people they don't know. I suppose what I'm getting at is that I really wish games would stop trying to appeal to everyone, and would pick a niche and stick to it. This game has two opposing factions, one pushing for harder content and one pushing for easier content, and I really doubt SE can manage to keep them both happy.

It's intended for your to learn your class as you level, which I realize is difficult when people FATE grind to 50. I still think this system is better than just starting classes at max level and getting 20 skills you've never used before. One of the advantages to this system is if you want to tank end game you have to level as a tank class from 1-50. If you want to heal you have to level as a healer from 1-50. You gradually get new skills and for the most part some of the quests attempt to teach you to learn your class by explaining the new skills you get, at least in the early levels.

The game makes a very good effort to teach basic mechanics through guild hests, quests and dialog, but that requires reading. Some people just can't be bothered to learn to play or improve and the game shouldn't be balanced around them. Perhaps the solution would be to make getting to 50 difficult enough that you can't get through earlier content without learning to play your class properly because I still see level 50 tanks that don't know how to save their CDs for predictable spike damage, like Mountain Buster, and healers that don't use Esuna, like on Titan.

FATEs like Go, go Gorgimera and The Eyes Have It are examples where people should be learning to avoid AoEs, heal a tank, follow emotes, and burn adds, yet the majority of the time you'll see DPS eating dirt because they stood in red, healers tanking adds while the DPS burn the boss, and a Bard kiting the boss around because the healers were DPSing instead of healing the tank. As such, these FATEs usually get skipped for tank n spanks like Roc of Ages.

IDK I've almost always had competent groups on Pharos via duty roulette. I actually wish they weren't making it easier cause I love challenging 4-man dungeons.

Hard to explain how the dungeon works, When almost every time I get this place someone has left before I even finish skipping the CS. Hence the whole reason I started the thread. I think is bullshit that people leave because they don't want to do the dungeon. I don't know if people leave because they think its difficult, The rewards are crap and aren't worth the time, Or because they don't want to deal with dumb people. I wasn't asking them to Nerf the shit out of it. They could adjust some of the Boss Mechanics, or they could just remove it from the Roulette. Because my queue times as a DPS are still pretty long. I don't think its fair that I have to wait 30mins+ for DR just to get Pharos Sirius and someone leave, Then I have to wait another 30mins+. I've had plenty of runs where people don't leave and things go fine, But lately (When started this) people left and didn't even give it a chance.

I like all the Hard Mode Dungeons and can't wait until the next ones.

This is what I think SE needs to do... They should add a Medium Level Roulette and put the easier dungeons together AK/WP and then High level Roulette can just be all the hard modes.

The only thing that I really really hate about the dungeon is that all the trash are such damage sponges, making the place feel like it takes longer than it actually does. The fights are actually quite fun, and most groups are able to get through it with a bit of explanation.
