Extreme Garuda MELEE Woes

If you kill Suparna first you don't have to deal with Garuda and Suparna switching places and double WWing the tank. That said, I really think it's intended that you tank Suparna and Garuda separately and kill Chiarda first. The mechanics seem to be set up to be easier, but more involved for the tanks if you do the fight this way.

Even a new tank should see the dead giveaway that they gonna do a double wheel though.
They disappear for a short time, cast friction and double wheel this is the only time in the whole fight where you need to use your def cooldowns you won't even drop 50% so I see no reason to give melee more trouble than it's worth just because the tank is a chicken.
