You know whats even funnier.... No one gonna talk in the parties anyway. You guys should play ffxi now insyead of thinking it still the same when cop was fresh. No one talks in parties, people just zerg everything, no one sets up SC anymore. Similar is happening in ffxiv. No one talks at all. Even in a few LS's i been in no body talks. The uis the most quiet mmo I've played. I'm getting to the point where if this silance continues, i much rather deal with erp'ers in WoW then play a silent mmo. I'm rerolling alot just to find a server that people actually talk in.

There so many bs complaints that the amtosphere is dragging the fun down faster then the how "bad" this game is. People are so worried about "efficiency" and "the best sp/hr" yet "not leveling too fast" (such an oxymoron) that people made the game unfun for themselves. I've beem exploring the game and there are alot of "party" locations around various maps and dungeons. just realise roaming was the way it was gonna be not camping.

can't believe people have comments like the game will play itself. all the game will be doing is your normal attacks while you manage all other abilities and timers. Something is seriously wrong with the game as it is now if you really think having to constantly go back to your normal attack every second or so some how makes it more strategic or action oriented. I never realized pressing 1 over and over again was so epic and amazing.

that is actually true >.> i played ffxi from match 2004- feb 2011. i've been on 5 servers and in over 1000 parties both pug and LS based. People still just zerg for 6 hours then disband. The reason for no one using SC's is people after years found it was too tedious to set up. As for the communication or lack of. People didn't care, and just talked to their LS's. in leveling parties there was nothing to plan outside of where to camp. And even then choices became limited. Like people now a days just solo to 20 and party in qufim then just lvl sync till 32 then do east ron in the past then lvl sync that for a while then just go into abyssea till 90. Or just leech off of smn burn parties till 70 then do abyssea.

I've seen leaders try to communicate to party members who just ignored it. So they just stoped trying. This is nothing new in mmo. ppl just do not care enough. They think planing is a waste of time since no one is gonna follow it anyway.

    ...and auto-attack is to blame?

Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

    P.S

While this system would actually be doable in a single player setting, this was a horrible idea for MMO scene.

This is the part of the bigger picture of what's wrong with the MMO genre right now. MMORPGs are not special little cookies - they SHOULD be held to the same standards as other genres. Sure, latency makes true real-time combat difficult, but you CAN make the combat system fun and dynamic - City of Heroes is a prime example of this. Zelda's combat system isn't too far fetched for a MMO, actually - DDO comes rather close to, actually (they use some timing tricks to make it seem less turn based than it actually is, but it works quite well).

its so funny how the main reason people want auto attack isn't for fun engaging combat. It's so they can chat. lmao.

it's kinda like going hunting with your rifle. you clean it, load it, cock it, aim it, and the trigger pulls itself. i guess by their line of thinking you managed to get lucky and get the crosshairs there for the split second it took the gun to shoot itself. if they did this for hunting it'd make everyone epic because they could always hit exactly what they were aiming at. sure it would make some people feel like they did something to help with the kill, but realistically they just allowed something else to do it for them.

is only fun for the first 30 minutes or so, but leves and grind parties usually last 2.5-6 hours and nobody says anything because if they do, people will die. Think about driving for 2.5-6hours at a time every day or two with 8 people in your car and nobody ever says a word. Is it fun? Can you stop yourself from falling asleep? Don't you feel like you're being smothered and suffocated slowly that you just want to scream? So yeah, auto attack so people can chat is not a stupid idea because it lightens out the mood and makes the grind a little more fun.
