    The OP seems to be forgetting that 50 is not going to be the end rank cap, and that new regions in the future will play host to the higher ranks, and not the current ones.
    But, these areas we have now have a lot of "unused" camps and mobs that are too high to bother with. They can raise the cap and we may still be stuck in the same areas, just higher level camps.

    I just really.... really really miss the change in environments in XI that we got on our path to cap level. Its really cool having these HUGE maps like we have now, as long as it doesn't mean we get less variation, which is what it looks like we have. And as its been stated often, so many things on these maps are copy/pasted

    Everyone knows this. Even the guy you are responding to.
    Taking SE for fools is the last thing people should do. They may troll us from time to time, (1.17b). But they do have aces in their deck. Somewhere...

    Nice to meet all the new faces here to this thread! Thanks for all your support! Because of everyone who visited we were able to get such a response.

    I very much look forward to seeing what's in store for the new themes, and I feel that repairing the foundation will lead to a great future for Eorzea, and that she will be able to capture new and veteran adventurers alike.

    I also feel that it will help to create a proper, working formula for new zones and feel a bit better in that regard. Because, let's not forget that these zones do NOT stop at 50. They continue to level 99! If nothing changed, not only would new zones be pointless to make, if we got any at all (99-199 ranks?), wouldn't they had been the same type of bloated, aimless maps?

    No reason to be rude. Though, I see you doing it to everyone in just about every thread. I shouldn't respond to you but meh, I'm bored so here it goes...

    If the person I quoted knew that like you claim, then they wouldn't have said that the new areas will be for the higher ranks. Which, I'm sure they more then likely will be. Was just saying that we could probably level to around rank 100 with the higher level mobs in the areas we have now. The mobs and camps are there already.

    You can't assume you know what everyone else knows.

    Then... you said taking SE for fools is the last thing people should do. Um yeah, because they just didn't release the biggest flop of 2010 right? They didn't just release an MMO and ignore everything they learned from a 9 year running MMO, FFXI right? They didn't mess it up so bad that the game is still free right? It's not so bad that they are having to revamp the entire battle system, along with making stats even work correctly right? They didn't ignore everything their players told them in beta and release it anyways right? They didn't release a game that bombed in the minds of the majority of gamers and media right?

    They have aces in their deck? And just what is that, chocobos and airships in 2015? Where have these aces been? The game is creeping up on being a year old. Are they holding on to these aces waiting for the right moment to save the game?

    yeah... we should definitely not take them for fools........

    p.s. by the way, I still like the game very much and have faith that they are finally going in the right direction with it. But, that does not make me ignorant to the huge problems they have had. With all their wacky decisions, they went and alienated their biggest potential fanbase, the FFXI players.

    The one thing that DOES bug me in this department, is you have areas close by to your starting cities that are very dangerous except to higher rank players. The regions are too big to have just a small level range in each one; that said, we could narrow things down to like 1~25-30 in the regions containing the starting cities, 31-40 in coerthas, and some yet-to be released regions, 41-50 in Mor Dhona and future areas.

    It's not a bad idea, it just makes something seem like a serious problem when it's not a major issue.

    It does have to expand, unless you'd like 50 to remain the rank cap forever. So yes, it will, at a minimum when the level cap rises.
    For the sake of making this game a success we have to start with the starting zones or people will never get into the game. Of course they could just add more zones for us at higher levels but than this game would not be able to survive off of subscriptions. We have to think of whats good for the game 1 to 50 and not just the future of 50 to 100 or we will not survive.

    Yea Scape, Kam leaves me scratching my head too... I must need that crutch, because I fail to see the sense unless there's some degree of sarcasm somewhere I'm missing.

    Anyway, great to finally see an official response here to go along with the bits seen in the other thread. Looking forward to getting info on these new designs, whenever they may start to take shape in the <distant?> future. ^^;
