Great catch! My money was on wavekin, but turtles are reptilia so I'm not gonna question it. Based on the Treasure Hunting enemies, I'm guessing that the two species are Adamantoise (darker/greener) and Tortoise (lighter/yellower). Seeing as Adamantoise shells drop from both, I'll assume that's the genera and throw those up on the chart. Thanks!

I think that's a good call on the species. I wonder if they're going to port the Genbu coloration? Though this might be painful, perhaps a fruitful avenue to pursue in our research is to painstakingly read the description of every leve quest 1 by 1? I always try to read them before I pop them.

Made my way through the level 30 Lancer quest where you have to defeat Balloons for their fingers. The Key Item description names bombs as Voidsent, though I'm unsure if the game names them as anything else in another location. Took a screenshot if anyone needs me to upload it.

Bombs have definitely been named voidsent enough times for me to not question it. That's another one I've been meaning to get on the chart, seeing as the item descriptions for Version 1.0's "Bomb Arm" and "Grenade Arm" made it pretty clear that bomb/grenade were the species we had so far. Also, though grenade ash exists, bomb ash drops from some lower level grenades, implying the genus name, as well. Except, according to FFXIVMODELS, there's a green one... it's always the green ones that need tracking down >.>

One trick: Look at the wiki page, and determine if you disagree with something (Like my personal war against Adamantoise as a Beastkin). Then just do everything you can to prove it wrong. Right now, focusing on Coblyns is always productive. If you can find a leve or FATE that specifies their class, that'd be great.

Do we have something confirming Gnats are Voidsent and not Vilekin? Snurbles? Wisps? There seems to be a LOT of voidsent.

I've been trying to collect data and screen shots about attacks and effects. Moose... Do Mandragoras have ANY moves that you've ever seen? I'm coming up with nothing. Even level 30 ones just hit harder than regular monsters, and have no moves.... I would think that because the minion hints at screams, they would have some. Maybe they'll get something in a future update when they add more types of Mandy?

You're still comin' up with confirmation and supporting evidence - which totally counts. What if the only evidence we for Gigas was that one levequest that called them cloudkin?

That step just depresses me, at this point

My money's on vilekin for gnats; nothing about them is unnatural unless size counts - and lalafell have long carried around their tails as good luck charms. There are indeed a ton of voidsent. At first I chalked it up as unusual, but when you consider that the main plot of the game is that our world and the Ascian world are now connected, and in one scene Lahabrea refers to his world as what we would call the void, it sort of makes sense. Remember that time Atomos showed up and was just like BLAAAARRRRRGHHHH <voidsent everywhere>? That said, we do have confirmation for wisps (who mistake vilekin fireflies as their kin and behave similarly) being voidsent, and snurbles are called voidsent enough times that I've stopped questioning it for now - though which are snurbles and which are phurbles I still need to look into. The golden ones seem to have shaken things up.

I haven't actively checked, but next time I get a treasure map with territorial mandragora, I'll tell them to pause the run, drop one to 25%, and just let it hit me for a minute or two.

Oh oh oh oh oh. I have a screenshot of gnats from a treasure chest on my ps3. I need to stop being lazy /(and playing) and get these things on my computer! They were called Territorial Keds, which totally made kedtraps make more sense to me in the Shroud. But, with them being voidsent - in a leve in Drybone(?) a tempered/evil character summons a gnat, and it is called "Voidjumper" or something along those lines. Not arguing that it isn't vilekin, which I would agree especially considering its features.

On the note of void sent and them being everywhere - have you done the guild heist where there is a void sent demon which summons void sent hippogryphs to its aid? When the players kill the demon dogs, their aether (spiritual energy) stays on the ground, and the NPC states that voidsent aether is rejected by our Lifestream, and takes the form of blue flames. Other voidsent can harness this blue aether flame energy and become stronger! Isn't that interesting? So are red whisps still void sent, or only the blue ones?

Also, I have a question about milkroot clusters and saplings as seen in the Sylphlands. Since when does a land trap turn into an ochu? Does milkroot just come from two different species? Maybe it has something to do with the soil?

That's the question, isn't it? It's not hard to argue that they might be voidsent, even if they seem much more likely to be vilekin. It may very well be the speeds at which gnats teleport make people accuse them of "void jumping." Remember, there's that regular ol' rodent in Gridania called the Deepvoid Deathmouse.

I'll do that one again and look around. I remember hippos being referred to as cloudkin and then I was like, then what was with the infestation in the Darkhold that was supposedly new? Now sometimes they're voidsent again? GAH.

Red wisps are voidsent; are there blue flames? I don't remember. If we're talking about Plasmoids, those are a different genus entirely.
