Ok so today....
level 44
Started with 9,284/390,800 got to 54,176/390,800. 45% Bonus would be 175,860. And I got 44,842 EXP from Mob kills.
Bonus was 186,503 which is close to 48% + the 4,632 for boss kill took me to 245,311/390,800
So EXP from Mob kills don't count toward the Bonus.

Cutters Cry might be an exception to the rule since that dungeon still have the Chain XP bonus as before 2.1

Here are some results I got using my LNC and ACN.
Guildhest @ 22 - The one with the Iron giant and skeletons
start: 39213/74100
End: 51844/74100
Bonus: 8750
Total: 12631
I had rested XP, and forgot to pay attention to XP from kills.
Guildhest @ 23 - Iron Giant again
Start: 38252/79100
End: 49270/79100
Bonus: 9820
2xskeletons: 248
Boss: 100
Total: 11018
Low level @ 22 - Ifrit
Start: 23131/74100 (no rested, no food)
End: 6563/79100 @ 23
Bonus: 54684
Total: 57532
Also forgot to record kill & newbie XP, but judging by the below, it looks like 2700 newbie bonus and 148 for Ifrit.
Low level @ 22 - Ifrit
Start: 52819/74100 (no rested, no food)
End: 38252/79100 @ 23
Bonus: 54684
Newbie: 2000
Defeat: 149
Total: 59533
Was hoping I'd get something other than Ifrit, but I'll try them again tomorrow & Tuesday and see what happens.

Someone probably already said this, but I've only read the first page; You don't need to leave high level dungeons just because they are higher level. You still make about the same amount of exp due to the exp from mobs you kill while doing the dungeon itself. It's really all about the same in the end to be honest. The only difference is that bonus exp number you get at the end that you pay more attention to.
that is the case but no need to leave dungeon because the mobs give you more xp. so it avg. out to the same. Lower level dungeons give you crap per kill xp so they give you a larger bonus, higher level dungeons give you great xp per kill so you get a lower bonus at the end. It all balances out in total. So how did I get 120kish yesterday in the stone vigil and then only get 68k in cutters cry? Yesterday and Today were the first times I got high level dungeons usually I get like the deepcroft or manor.
Ok well if that's the case then I will be leaving if its a high level dungeon from now on.
Well anyways thanks all for the info.
ofc it doesnt count towards the bonus... but it makes up the missing exp. The more xp per kill you get the lower the bonus will be at the end.Ok so today....

I know it doesn't count toward the bonus that's the point of why I posted it. Because of what this person said......
He is saying that the bonus should be 45% of the exp needed to level, And that killing mobs effect the amount of the Bonus. Now I'll use Cutters Cry that I did with using what he said.Lets pretend you are level 36, with 0 xp. You need 249,900 xp to get to level 37. Lets assume for the moment that the ~45% number is correct. This means that doing the roulette will net you 112455 xp.
If you get Copperbell, and mob kills grants you 20k xp then the bonus would be 92,455. If you get Brayflox and mob kills grants you 45k then the bonus would be 67,455. Yes the bonus is smaller but the net gain is the same. If you only got 20k in mob kills in Brayflox (by skipping mobs for example) then the bonus would jump back up to 92,455. The point is, you get the same xp no matter what dungeon you run.
level 42- 43 is 356,800 exp, that's 160,560 Bonus (45%) I did Cutters Cry and got lil over 68k for the Bonus, So that would mean we would have gotten 92k'ish in total mob kills. We killed everything, I just did a run to check to see how much EXP you get up until the last boss. I got 160,688 ( not counting last boss) I ran out of rested exp 5 mobs after the first boss, and I know I had rested for the full run I did yesterday. So the total should have been close to 190k.
So using what he is saying about mob EXP effecting the Bonus then I should have gotten a Bonus of Zero, in fact I should have been in the negative.
I want to know what the Bonus is suppose to be compared to the level difference between player and dungeon?
Using the Cutters Cry I did yesterday my Bonus was 19% for a level 42 job in a level 38 dungeon, I also did a level 24 job in a level 16 dungeon and got 54% Bonus, and today I did level 44 in a level 16 dungeon and got 48% Bonus.
So what is the base line for the Bonus 45%? How much extra percent for character level? And how much do you lose when you do a higher level dungeon? Also does Rested EXP effect the Bonus?

Note that the 45% was just give by one person and confirmed by none.
The kind of data we need to sort this out is as follows:Once we have these 4 data points from multiple people of same level and of different level, for the same dungeon, we can determine exactly how the bonus EXP is calculated.
- Character level and exact EXP before dungeon
- Character level and exact EXP after dungeon
- The exact lump sum bonus awarded as stated in the chat log
- Whether character was rested or not (and if the rested bonus got exhausted during the run)

BLM 45
Duty finder put me into Ifrit NM.
You gain 140842 thaumaturge experience points.
A bonus of 140,842 experience points and 3,150 gil has been awarded for using the duty roulette.
You obtain 377 storm seals.
You gain 176 (+100%) thaumaturge experience points.
After Ifrit I'm at 266881/408200
