    Now this is the kind of thing I could get into if SE will keep it up in the future. To actively use player blogs in bringing the player base into the world itself is quite amazing. They did an excellent job at hitting an around the world audience as well.

    Its unfortunate there is no new news, but again if this keeps up in such a way as to be reminiscent of the old vanadiel tribune I will be one happy cat. I would love for their papers to print lore on characters such as they used to do, like the great article on lungo-nango and rongo-nango that I once read a long time ago.

    I love this. Tying game lore into current events and player activity. This is one way I define immersion.

    Makes me want to start using my blog. >.<

    My research lead me to another adventurer, one V.P., who lends further weight to the apocalypse theory by quoting The Five Ages—aye, that hefty tome seen hither and thither that describes Eorzea's cycle of prosperity and destruction. If I might be forgiven for paraphrasing from memory, the passage of interest states that the Sixth Astral Era must give way to the Seventh Umbral Era, the coming of which will end life as we know it.
    I'm hoping this will tie into several things, including some major visual changes. Bring on the revamp! (*crosses fingers*)

    I loved the Vana'diel Tribune! Watching it become discontinued was like the end of an era.

    While I understand why the Tribune was so well-liked, I still want to see SE be a little more...accessible I guess would be the word, in terms of advancing the lore. After a certain point the info on the Tribune either was stagnant due to relying on past events too much or giving us things that you could not see ingame at all (like the whole Trion x Curilla article near the end of the Tribune's run).

    I'd like to see them get an author, and I mean a good author, not a fanfic hack like Richard Knaak, to write a book using/expanding the lore of Eorzea. Could be a Pulitzer or Aoki prize author, for all I care.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

    True, Duelle. I felt that lore in FFXI wasn't very accessible in the game's infancy or in lower levels.

    FFXIV, by contrast, grabs you and pulls you into the story the minute you log in. This was something they did right, and should really strive to continue with.

    I think it's great that these writings are on The Lodestone, but they really should reside in game, as well. I don't want to see The Lodestone turn into the Vana'diel Tribune in that it will be exclusively housed in an external source. I do think they're progressing in that they are attempting to tie this into in-game events. However, I think we should be able to read all of this in game. Why can't I find the reporter for The Raven in Gridania? Why can't I read their articles in game? In fact, I'd like to be able to find more sources of in-game lore, like a sage's library or something. I always felt that was lacking in FFXI.

    That said. Please keep the lore coming! Love it.
