"And this is coming from a graphics guy in the industry. I definitely always opt for style over details as even to me content is more important than the bloom filter I get to use."

I know this going a little off track from topic but one game i played where style was really intresting was a game published by square enix in europe called odin sphere, i was not expecting game to be that intresting but it was a big suprise.

Anyway i still think new shiny graphics are not a bad thing and final fantasy 14 looks fairly amazing when run on half decent screen , i think better screen you have better the game will look with final fantasy 14.
I still play my ps 2 games today and even older games i can go back to, so great looking games not most important thing to me but im not agaisnt it either.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it already, but they snuck in a new command in patch 1.17c that lets GMs freely pop monsters.

The previous "The Last Word" stuff was also preceded by a new command for GMs (to let them give out buffs), so we may be seeing some new event-related monsters appearing soon.

good find, they should spawn some doom guivres in the market wards and have them go crazy. and if ur retainer dies, u lose all the items on that retainer. talk about hardcore.

It's NASA's better cheaper faster mantra, only just cheaper.

The World Ends With You is a text adventure with a battle engine, and is the new Square Enix model for quality and cost control.

The point of Square merging with Enix was to keep production value high so quality of gameplay doesn't slip like this. And yet the merger has apparently failed to do this now that a good portion of our videogaming from them is pretend roleplaying and imagination.

Why don't we just all go back to 2d if this is what we're going to do? Just pretend and blog.
wow...that game looks terrible... I had never even heard of it before you mentioned it.

It's actually terrific. TWEWY is my favorite Square title since FF8. It has a great story and very fun combat.

While I understand why the Tribune was so well-liked, I still want to see SE be a little more...accessible I guess would be the word, in terms of advancing the lore. After a certain point the info on the Tribune either was stagnant due to relying on past events too much or giving us things that you could not see ingame at all (like the whole Trion x Curilla article near the end of the Tribune's run).

I'd like to see them get an author, and I mean a good author, not a fanfic hack like Richard Knaak, to write a book using/expanding the lore of Eorzea. Could be a Pulitzer or Aoki prize author, for all I care.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

THANKS FOR BEING VAGUE AGAIN IN A SITUATION THAT CALLS FOR THE EXACT OPPOSITE APPROACH TO KEEPING YOUR CUSTOMERS INTERESTED.

I get that you're trying to hype up some certain event, but give us a little more credit. Most of us are grown men (and women). Such flowery fairy tale tactics won't keep us from realizing that there is no information here and it's little more than jingling keys in front of us.

You constantly hold off revealing information for certain important updates because you claim you have to be particular in what you reveal, but when you post stuff like this it feels like you're not really taking your job seriously.

I'm not saying you should avoid doing this sort of thing altogether, but your game is in serious trouble and we need to know you are working hard on making it presentable for the general public. These blips of lore combined with your overall lack of clear communication make it look like you're not really working as hard on these patches as you should be and instead you're trying to distract us tiny shards of an event to premiere who knows when.

Lore is good, but right now, we need clear direction. If this is the result of that poor communication that has ruined your company, I suggest you change it; starting with your customers.

/rant based mostly on immediate emotional impact. Expect possible logic errors.
