I'm trying to understand why melee vs ranged would make a difference, though. The spots are for DPS, and Duty Finder doesn't break it down to melee vs ranged. You either have two designated slots for DPS, or four, depending on whether it's a 4 man or 8 man dungeon. I've never heard of warriors vs paladins having different wait times, or scholar vs whm. The slots just don't do that unless you're using party finder and limit them yourself manually.

I ride to all places I go, unless I really have to teleport (Limsa Lominsa/La Noscea is an island after all). Even then, I tend to return to my hometown, take the airship to the appropriate city and then ride to where I need to go. The world really is a small place. Only people with too much money teleport everywhere.

I bet there's been a change since they did it for PvP...now the PF will try to pair a melee and ranged, so if theres a ton of ranged and not a lot of melee...

As a DRG...have to say that if that is what happened...I like it

I think its fine the way it is now. People can break the monotony of FATE farming and do dungeons so they'll learn thier jobs proberly while also helping those new tk said dungeon.

People still do fates for seals. My only suggestion is that they add more items/perks for using using gc seals. Like crafting mats, higher ilv gear. Namimg way cards, etc

People are just farming the first trash pulls of dungeons for EXP now, and then restarting the dungeon and repeating.

If you want to keep on a DPS and don't want to do FATEs during the queue time, there is also always the options to do leves, or beastmen dailies during the queue time.
I hope in near future we can also level up our chocobos during the queue time.

To be fair, FATE grinding is equally accessible for all classes. Meanwhile dungeon grinding is much slower for DPS classes due to the very long queue times. It probably wouldn't bother me too much if I could actually use my Chocobo while in the queue though :\

Im having a little trouble understanding the people who say roll tank when the guy is asking about leveling dps... 0_o?

Back on track though... yeah they I was one of the gamers who actually enjoyed FATEs and to see them in the state they are in now kinda sucks. Yeah it was grindy but hey, it's a MMORPG. I already had both tank jobs at 50 before the boost came. I still support it though if the tank situation was as bad on the worlds as the forums would lead us to believe.

Keep the numbers theme going. There are simply more DPS role playing players than there are the other two classes. There could be 10 different jobs that can tank, the community would still be flooded by DPS (over the long run). The peeps they love the smashy, smashy!

I do wish they would keep tweaking the FATE system to accommodate this as the open world seems a lot less lively without the masses running around for those pops.

I think if they fixed that so that it didn't, DPS wait times would be better. I understand having that restriction for PVP, but in PVE there's no reason for it IMO. If people want to do alternative parties, that's what Party Finder is for.
