Why would you push the mob away for no reason? Let the tank handle mob positioning. It's part of their job abd you are interfering with it, which is why they don't like it. Just because your ability off cooldown doesn't mean you HAVE to push the button. Besides tank issues, you could also be knocking a mob out of DPS AoE range, or knocking them out of cast range/line of sight. I can't say that I would be happy if I were trying to cast a spell and you decided to knock the mob behind me.

Players like her is the reason I keep my ass out of DF and try to exclusively play with people from FC/LS.
Combine this with people advocating to do endgame blind and just learn as you go because its funsies and you get worse players than her.

Personally my WHM friend who healed me from start to finish of my FFXIV career used the ability very often and well(even when on summoner). It was not used often, but if i had say a caster or something out of my range a quick check on angle and distance while keeping me topped up would knock it over into my flash. I didn't even have to ask. It's a useful utility ability and has some uses as mentioned by others. It's a useful ability when used by a useful player. OP is obviously a troll and quite likely also a useless player. Like the people who come in full spirit bond groups for CT.

Raising whm I never used it just for fun. I used it only if I had a mob attacking myself or another ranged player.

As a tank, I do find it mildly annoying when White Mage would go out of their way to push a mob out of my range for no apparent reason. I have had a few runs where they actually did it out of their own weird fun and though it never made me lose any enmity, it was mildly annoying and it made me work more than I already had to. (though I never gave out to them about it). It has also happened when the emerald carbuncle or Garuda randomly decides to push the mob it's attacking and that pretty much has the same effect... lol
As a WHM, the only times I've ever used it, is when I'm dealing with a poor tank and he loses enmity and the mob starts attacking me. If I can push it towards the tank, I always do. Otherwise I just run towards the tank to help him get the enmity back.
It's not a major problem for good tanks, it's just mildly annoying and if there is no need for it to be used, it shouldn't be.

I use this all the time.... Its great with sleep. Especially with reducing incoming dmg to poorly geared tanks. On a primary target, it's just ridiculous. I also like to use it for positioning. I especially like the guildleve with the gil turtle. It's like a game of golf. I had one complaint once, and I promptly told the tank s/he is lucky I was healing them while they were in gear 20 levels below the instance.
I do like to troll my FC mates when we do a run though, but then again we think it's funny, for us at least.
EDIT: If the knockback happens in the first couple seconds of a fight, bad WHM. If the tank can't handle the threat after awhile, bad tank.
Also, it does decent damage when running in cleric stance if you bother with keeping your gear current.
I don't know about using this in a reg rotation, the skill seems situational. If ur tank is letting a mob chew on u, i say use it and tank can just boo hoo. But better to save mp and or use aero in reg rotation. No one will blame u for just healing.
Whenever whm use fluid aura on random target, i usually let the whm takes the responsibilities of the consequences.
I hope that whm has much more defense and better way to control hate than tank.
Does whm like to see ppl just stay in the aoe attack coverage and blame whm don't know how to heal?
That's pretty much how tanks feel when whm using fluid aura randomly.
That means ONLY (ONLY and ONLY) use it on the mob that's chasing ur ass. That's the main purpose of the fluid aura, keep the mob away from you and bind it.
It's a safety backup feature, NOT an offense action by all means.
If you like dps, go level blm or something...
