I main a WAR but in pursuit of leveling every job, I've been working on WHM lately. As a tank, I found it annoying when a WHM would use Fluid Aura on the primary target everyone was attacking but was fine if they used it on a secondary or tertiary target (after all, it does a little more outgoing damage and slows incoming damage a bit).

However, as a WHM, I'm finding that many tanks complain about WHMs doing this. DPS never complains, just the tanks. Explaining why I use it and promising to only hit secondary/tertiary targets with it solves nothing. Tanks are still telling me not to use a cool ability that I have sitting there on my hotbar.

I have actually gotten votekicked for using Fluid Aura (apparently tank commands are law). I did report the party (not that I expect it did one bit of good).

So this is what I think:

WHM has Fluid Aura. Are we really intended not to use it, except maybe as a safety button if the tank loses hate? And tanks even complain about that use too btw.

What's wrong with using it the way I'm using it? I can stand relatively close to the tank against most regular trash packs making it easy to regain aggro with Flash if I should happen to steal it. I think tanks that can't deal with WHM using Fluid Aura are just bad tanks (the same tanks often complain about people dotting all targets! LOL).

I just wish tanks didn't tell me how to play my job. It's always in Tam Tara too for some reason which makes me also wonder:

a) Why do I always get Tam Tara w/ Low Level Roulette?

and

b) Why are tanks getting so bent out of shape about Tam Tara?!
