There's nothing to discuss. Knockback abilities are always controversial, because loonies abuse them and annoy everyone else.

Ah that's why the name was familiar, yay another train wreck thread to stalk while im waiting for class to startLol these posts about sum up the stupidity of this thread. I remember the OP made a thread generalizing male and female players and how they act and then kept saying she wasn't trying to be sexist. /derp
The OP is full of generalizations that have no merit. Quit crying over something that isn't even a problem.
As a melee DPS, I hate Fluid Aura. As a WHM, I use it exclusively for solo content. I was a DRG first.
I once did encounter a WHM in Brayflox, though, who was very good at using Fluid Aura! He/she was probably running it for the gear and had obviously run it many times, they were so familiar with it. It was a DF group, but we worked together very well. The tank would mark the mobs, and I don't remember if the other DPS was a BLM or not, but he must have been. Either that or the WHM was very good at getting sleep on all the others. Tank would pull target 1 away from the sleeping mobs, and we would kill it. The healer would watch us, and use Fluid Aura at the exact moment to throw the mob right next to us so we could start killing it. It was beautiful.
The OP is complaining about fluid aura in Tam Tara, one of the first few dungeons.
Keep in mind, that not every tank is experienced yet, some are just starting out to tank, and you are making it harder for them.
At that low of a level, tanks don't have a lot of their skills yet.
No shield oath or defiance, don't have their 3rd combo yet.
I've gotten these low level dungeons on DPS in roulette, and it is very easy to pull aggro off tank. Especially for GLA and PLD that only really have flash and savage blade as their enmity boost.
Having a mob being knocked out of their range prevents them from building hate (flash or rotating skills on different mobs).
I see some comment about "provoke". It a level 22 gladiator skill. If they are on PLD or GLA, they don't have it yet in the first few dungeons. And if they haven't leveled GLA past 22, can't have it as a crossclass skill either for WAR/MRD
So if they ask you to stop, and you put up this douchebag "I do what I want" attitude.
Why are you even surprised about getting vote kicked.
The DPS also agree with the tank as they both also need to vote yes to kick you, THEY should be reporting YOU for harassment.

I'll also vote not to use it in normal situations. I main melee dps and anything unexpected will make me stop my rotation so I can think if I need to be doing something different. Since both melee dps use positionals, moving mobs can interrupt the flow. Good tanks know how to keep the mobs lined up so that going from one mob to another is seamless and using Fluid Aura whenever you you can just frustrates everyone. It's like DRG gets a cool ability that does damage and stuns called leg sweep. But if I spam it on Chimera or some similar battle I'm sure I'll get kicked too.
That said, if you're going to keep using it whenever you can at least give your party a warning so they know they didn't screw up and it's just you using it because you can.

Seems more like a solo skill. Dungeons are too easy to need to knock mobs away making fights lasts longer.
So NOW I know what this stupid move is called.
Push it away from me while I am tanking and it goes for you? HF getting beaten by a mob. I won't use a cool down because you think it is fun to knockback some mobs.
I also hate this move as DD. *readies move* woooooosh *well derp lets run after it*
I don't mind it when I'm tanking but what really annoyed me was when this whm would run up and do it immediately when the fight started..on the mob I just pulled...then the dps would run after it and IMO having the dps run after the mob actually lowers dps (so not worth the little dmg you do as a whm). So basically...just cast aero again or something. You have plenty of spells that don't mess with the positioning of the mobs.
When I was levelling WHM, Fluid Aura was a fun skill to use. It is actually a really good disable. Here are a few practical applications of Fluid Aura that would not cause uproar:
- Knocking Maidservants in Haukke Manor. But only to the wall. And even then, only if you can't trust your tank to stun it.
- Knocking the pudding boss in Wanderer's Palace. When you see the blue glow come out of it, that's your cue to use Fluid Aura on it.
- Knocking ranged mobs into tank AoE zone.
I would get pissed if you did this (as a tank/melee DPS):
- Knocking back my primary target. This is worse for a melee DPS than a tank.
- If there were more than 2 ranged mobs I managed to LoS, and you decided to knock one of them back. This is worse for a tank than a melee DPS.
All of the above applies to Arcanists/Summoners who don't set their Emerald Carbuncle/Garuda-Egi to Obey too.
