Ah yes, you are clearly so well versed in our community's struggles that you are qualified to make that kind of generalization.I think the LGBT community is just used to complaining about nothing... honestly.

It's funny because I don't think anyone ever actually got upset about the event, moreso they got upset about the crap you hear on a forum when you bring up an issue that involves homosexuality.
I mean ... this is really a load of crap. You could make the same argument for a game where there are no non-white skin shades.
First of all I think the majority of the LGBT community is not spending their time complaining about nothing, that's a pretty boneheaded statement. There are plenty of people who said it irked them a little but they got over it, though you're so hyperbolic that those people who really aren't bothered by it are characterized as cry babies simply because they don't completely agree with and accept your assessment. Just come off it, the real problem is people like you making posts on this topic. I don't know if you think you're eloquent or winning the argument, but you really should have a nice long look at the shit you're saying.
You know you could just not click on or read the threads and also turn off MSNBC since Sharpton isn't 'coming on TV' much more than that. Especially given there have been a grand number of 4 threads, 3 of which were basically troll threads.

What on earth are you talking about? I can think of two things the LGBT and allied community has spoken up about: marriage and, most recently, this event. That's it. Both are reasonable things to voice our opinion on.
No one has asked for catering, people -have- asked for us to not be excluded. Not being excluded from thought is not the same as being catered to, i suggest you realize that.
At the end of the day, however, no one is up in arms about this event. No one is calling for SQE's head on a platter. I, and others, are voicing disappointment that instead of change a few lines of text from a non-crucial npc (and it's resulting quest) to encompass everyone in their playerbase regardless of sexual identification; They instead to chose to simply act as if there was no other way to be during a romantic holiday.
SQE's real test will be in the future, when and if they introduce marriage. If they choose to do the responsible thing, everyone will be happy.. if they do not, then they will again hear disappointment from a large portion of their player base.

Rather than saying "Oh, I remember this one time" you should probably provide a link, otherwise nobody know what you are talking about.
Even then, though, that particular point is moot because there's a male lalafell in the Drybone inn who is talking in his sleep about being Raubhan's "Sultana", and he's been there for at least since the game got out of Beta.
Good to see a man with your lifestyle actually speak something sensible, it is always the extremes with these topics, perhaps people forget the general view of love and only focus on their view of it .Ima a gay man and I heard about the hilarity going on in the forums yesterday from a friend. At first when I heard about the quest I though, "hey, that's might inconvenient." Once I actually played the event I quickly realized, "hey, this is pretty harmless."
I was lead to believe that the hearts were meant to be shared with your one and only "valentine". Instead you get six. If anything, Square is trying to get an orgy going.
All in all, this quest is harmless to the LGBT community.

i just don't like that they make me talk to boys
To be fair, what taru doesn't want to be carried around like a perched falcon?Rather than saying "Oh, I remember this one time" you should probably provide a link, otherwise nobody know what you are talking about.

you honestly must be delusional. I'm not against allowing it, but the reality is only a very small minuscule portion of the player base even bothers complaining on here, regardless of what the issue is.
