Only 1.5 Millions ps3/pc combinated sales? i was hoping 4 - 5 millions as minimum is a Final Fantasy game.

Comparing sales of software on a sub based MMO to single player RPGs in the series... XI has surpassed them all in profit having 11yrs of sub fees. Paid for itself in 3yrs.

You also forget those sales figures don't include ppl that bought 1.0 as ARR was free. Also that sales were halted for a few weeks due to the launch issues/server demand.

Who cares? The company is now positive after yrs of tossing money around on projects and engines that had extremely long Dev cycles. XIII part 1 alone wasted millions and it wasn't a MMO.

Look at the whole picture, not just some sales numbers.

Technically XI already has, VII will never be remade thankfully lol, it was already an unfinished mess in the first place. There's a reason they're remaking every FF but the ones people actually want, i.e proper VI remake, proper V remake, IX remake (or just a damn PC port already) and I suppose VII.

Unfortunately for you Square stated many times how rushed and unfinished FFVII was to the point they have a lot of dummied out content and were worried if they removed any debug data it would render the game unplayable, so while it may be the first and only FF game you've ever played (assumptions are fun), anyone who's followed Square can obviously see how they're dancing around remaking certain games and rather do a 'port with slightly enhanced graphics, fixed bugs or additional minor content."

Yes, which FFXI has already technically surpassed, which means they should have been worked on a FFVII remake.

Of course the game is a good game but these are sales and sub forecasts from the start of an MMO service, there is a huge group of people who jump from MMO to MMO so lets just hope the success is a long term thing

It doesn't matter how and/or why you spin the numbers, it's in the black. That means we'll see more content, more vanities, more everything.

The only thing that will change is the "nothing to do" conversation will progress to the "I came back because xyz" conversation.

As long as SE largely ignores most of the MMO "consumptionists" aka "hoppers" and caters to the players looking for an MMO in a FF setting, I'll be happy.
