Queue times for DPS roles have been declining steadily since the patch and it never takes me more than 20 minutes to get into a run these days (often it's less than 10 minutes). Wether Roulette or regular queue. Maybe i'm just lucky but I think that what SE said was the truth, since the patch a lot of people have begun to play tanks and now those tanks are getting into endgame.

And making dungeons worth the time spent inside them was the best thing they could have ever done.

    Fact.

I waited nearly a hour and a half for CT on BRD. Never got a thing. Decided to try and make my own PF group (still with me running as BRD. Filled the other DPS slots in like 15 seconds... all BRD. 'Cute fluke!' I thought. We got healers soon after that then hit DF. Got two tanks withen a min or so. Did the run... didnt get drop. So I made another PF group. Again, all 3 DPS were BRD. Ran it. Didnt get drop. Made another PF group.... AGAIN... all 3 DPS were BRD.

Three times in a row? All the BRD's were different except for me (obviously). Friend on another server told me he and another IRL friend of mine hit DF together. Both BRD. Waited an hour and never got a party. One switched to MNK and they were in CT inside 10 min.

I haven't really had an issue with que's as a DPS, but I do agree the current system isn't really the best.

The issue initially was that fates were by far the quickest way to level, and every other option of levelling seemed far too slow in comparison. SE has just flipped that on its head and made Duty Roulette by far the quickest way of levelling and now fates and such are abandoned and seem pointless. The exact same problem remains but now the most effective way to level can only be done once per day.

SE need to make all methods of levelling balanced and that way the player will have more variety in how they choose to level their character and the playerbase will be distributed more evenly.

They buffed battle leve experience to, just do all of those. I generally have 100 of them and can knock out all the levels between dungeon ques just doing that. Secondly when I que as a DPS I don't just que for 1 dungeon. I Que for every guildheist and dungeon that will yield good exp for my level that is available in my list.

IMO, it's not perfect, and the problems you listed exist, but it doesn't take much longer to level a DPS you just end up doing it differently.

    That's false.

From my experience, the actual queue time is a function of how many times you visit the toilet. The more times the shorter the queue becomes. If you queue up and just go stay in the toilet, it will pop immediately.

I disagree with OP. Dungeon exp changes are a step in the right direction that made it a viable alternative to FATE grinding.

I finished my final job last weekend. During patch 2.1 I leveled MNK, BLM, SMN, and WHM.

    Leveling method:
    1. Do daily roulette for low level dungeon and Guildhest
    2. Queue highest available dungeon.
    3. Do quests, hunting log or FATEs while waiting in queue.

This may not be the fastest way the level, however it was much more enjoyable than just grinding FATEs.

I queue up for the low-roulette as BLM and get in within 20-30. I do my dailies while waiting, or do some crafting. I've been queueing for AV to try to get those last levels and get in within a half-hour as well (more crafting while waiting).

I see ppl putting dungeon grind pts together using party finder all the time.

Maybe give that a whirl and see how it goes.

    DPS had problems before too.

Boosting dungeons was wonderful to the game. And I'm saying that because I had PLD/WAR at 50 first, and I mostly use Daily Roulette for DPS and Healers.
