I wish I could get blizzard II as a SCH but I would have to give up stone skin D;. Which works wonders with aldo stacks pre-buffed. (Anti interruption immunity)

The only five I can use as a cross class is


Swift Cast

Cleric Stance

Sure Cast

Protect

StoneSkin


Those are just too valuable to give up for a bind (Which is prolly our only CC disregarding the -20% heal debuff and 180 Second - 300 Second Aura Blast) But I guess having a fairy that can heal you all the time (if folks are dumb enough to not interrupt her) makes it fair. :<

Then PvP skills like focalization (PVP skill) & fey Covenant would be useless. Magic Defense and Physical defense is existant in PvP. Morality is just something added to the formula:<.

Focalization increases your magic resistance which is not the same as magic defense. Fey Covenant is just like Protect by having no purpose in 50s.

Cleft protect does nothing in pvp - except maybe serve as a dispel shield ; Only morale does reduce / increase player dmg
Protect boosts stats from your gear (Mdef/Pdef) - which have 0 effect in pvp. 0* protect is still 0
This has been confirmed countless times and by blue posts
Focalize and Phatom Dart affect magic resist which you can think of as either 0 or 100%. So if u focalize its 125% or if u phantom dart its 90%.
Not taking blizz 2 over protect is pure badness anyway even if it worked

Shh, having protect on makes me feel useful and less squishy. :< I have seen the numbers stay the same after I used Fey Covenant, but I still wont believe!~

Even if it worked, not taking advantage of boosting your defense is pure badness toots. <3 I'll take that over a bind any day. Ofc I have been thinking of replacing it with blizzard 2 since a certain *cough cough job removes it 100% of the time anyways. Lets just wait and see if SE will make any changes. owo~ There has been talks about gear adjustment for PvP and PvE. We just don't know what. :<



Which reminds me, does anyone know how potent element resist is in PvP? Since thats all focalization does. :< (Useless against summoners I suppose) Based on my many findings of it being a element resist skill and not a magical. u_u (Can anyone confirm this if its just SE being lazy on the text again?)

So far with +15 resistance from my racial base I seem to take about 200 DMG less from a Garuda Enkindle which would have critted me for 1.1k. Do note that this doesn't amplify or reduce unaspected damage either.

I tested without Protect for a while and found a neat trick. Use protect then immediately switch it with blizzard II. The global cd last for a minute only, so we should be good there. And pretty much its use in PvP is a dispel shield which can be tested for further details. I tested auto attack dmg in PvP and found it did nothing to it. <3 However dispel shield or not, I don't feel like dealing with folks who bicker at you for not using protect. :<

Im assuming that's without the upgraded numbers. So basically focalization is a sub par skill to have considering black mages hardly get the chance to cast offensive spells anyhow. z_z

Flare
Freeze
Garuda -Egi's attacks/Enkindle
Ifrit -Egi's Enkindle
Titan -Egi's Enkindle

Unaffected are:
Windbite
Scathe
Holy
Ruin 1-2
Miasma 1-2
Bio 1-2
Energy Drain
Fester
