also this is another reason i think probably happen as well to this game and what keeps happening to most mmo's. this is a dev that got fired talking bout warhammer and why it failed.

Depends on which side of the coin you are on. You can also say those who still are active in the game are the freaks of freaks that actually like it, where the general 80-90% already quit in frustration.
on top of all of that we are playing the game as changes happen little by little, witch gives us the option to judge each thing little by little like it was the whole game each time they do. it's not like start game ...like it stay ..don't then leave. it's keep changing things and people are gonna keep leaving cause it keeps pushing them past that point where they dont want to stay no more. in reality only people left in this game are the truely knowing and hopefull that the game will be great one day and that at the least got lots of the grind stuff out of way for free. rest are just botters and rmt that will disapear the second they start charging.
lots of things that make this game unenjoyable and the parts of the game u spend the most time doing are horrible and it all needs fixing or slowly and surely everyone will quit.
If you cater to those 20K ish people left, then you will forever float at 20kish community.
The "yes man" at least polls a greater community then the stubborn. All the polls and reactions comes more from outside the "active" and rather the "inactive". Which is a heck of a better deal if they are planning to revive it.
Again there's a balance to be made and a eventuality that has to be done. They can either float with what they have now, which is not really an option since it's so low, it's almost insignificant, or they can try to get the a good chunk of the September 27 crowd back.
Only then should their "ps3 miracle" plan proceed. Assuming they follow the ghost town inhabitants, doing fuzzy math they won't get anywhere because the quit rate will just be as high on ps3 after a month of release.
Why should they focus end gamers, if people they have to make the biggest impression on didn't even make it anywhere close to end game. If you query the lvl 20s and 30s, you can see their quit dates float in oct/november. They're not going to care if you add 300 lvl 50 contents.

yeah but most the people voting are probably rmt and botters and people of that sort. what percent u think of this game is that set of players that are left in game? then add there votes, or multiple votes in and u dont have a game for the people. and no matter how u look at it rmt adjust and stay long as players are here and willing to buy, but we won't be, we'll just move on, just like we pick out a game to play, we will eventually deside weither to finally leave or stay.

If they turn this into a copy cat, standardized mmo, I'll go play a tried and true standard mmo. If they keep the things that make it Final Fantasy, and some of the unique things like the battle system and the player driven economy, then I'll gladly stay.
Economy is never player driven, always RMT driven! Every MMO is like that.
I honestly think the funding for this game is extremely low(its not making money, thats why) thus the dev.team is smaller than what it would need to be to put out fixes/revamps faster to keep the players interested. I think anything this new dev team adds they have to put extra emphasis on if its cost effective, which makes it slower to roll out the changes/content.
I believe FF14 is just a "see what you can do opportunity" for Yoshida, I would love to see him produce an MMO with the proper funding and proper size dev team because I think he has the idea's and he is no doubt an up and coming star for SE's future MMO endeavor's.
I think at the end of the day, this game is going to shut down. The dev.team can only do so much with the funding they have been given. SE can't just add 40things per patch, it has to fall within the budget allocated to FF14 which is why we're seeing slow progress because it has to be broken up into multiple patches to meet budget requirements.
I'm not so sure this is true. Of course, we are both just speculating, but I really think SE is taking the stance that letting XIV fail is not an option because it is part of the FF franchise and because they want to salvage their reputation. I'm sure keeping the game up and running for no monthly fee rather than closing down and going back to a closed alpha/beta state is quite expensive but it is a cost they are willing to eat to regain player trust and make xiv worthy of its number in the FF series.I honestly think the funding for this game is extremely low(its not making money, thats why) thus the dev.team is smaller than what it would need to be to put out fixes/revamps faster to keep the players interested. Player
Game needs like a better chain system or boost your stats when your playing your class correctly.
1 dislike I have is I cant use the currect skillchain system with my 360 controler since theres no way to hit the Skillchain button on the 360 controler. I gotta get up and click on the mouse toget a SE working. Since I have toget up I dont skillchain. Thats another thing SE needs to do is update the gamepad controls.
If you play your game on your keyboard thats fine but I need a good gamepad for this game.
Auto-attack I really feel is not an issue. Let's face it, the only real difference between the battle system as it is now and with auto attack is that you have to spam 1. The current system is in no way innovative, and it doesn't make as much sense as auto-attack. Spamming 1 hinders party communication, and battle tactics, I don't think anyone can argue otherwise.
I also feel that SE should NOT be trying for innovation at the moment. They need to make the game solid, then introduce innovation on down the line. House of cards yadda yadda... They tried to innovate at launch and it was the biggest final fantasy fail yet. I am welcoming auto-attack because I really want to see SE do something that makes sense for a change
We can rest easy that this is not going to turn into a generic MMO, it is already so so different, in lore/pace/mise en scene etc
